The Christmas Candle
Here's an early Christmas greeting
For your family to share.
Let it brighten up your season
And spread gladness through the air...
You can start a new tradition
Every night 'til Christmas Day,
To burn the Chrismas candle
While your family does play...
You can bake, draw or read stories
Sing songs or just play games,
And by the season's finish
Only memories remain...
It is hoped that you'll enjoy
A season full of fun,
And that love will burn more brightly
When your holiday is done...
Merry Christmas!
The Bayberry Candle
This bayberry candle
is a gift from a friend.
On Christmas Eve
burn it down to the end.
For a bayberry candle
burned to the socket.
Brings Joy to your life
and Wealth to your pocket.
The Christmas Card
I have a list of folks I know, all written in a book,
And every year when Christmas comes, I go and take a look.
And that is when I realize that these names are a part,
Not of the book they're written in, but of my heart.
For each name stands for someone who has crossed my path some time,
And in that meeting they've become the rhythm in each rhyme.
And while it sounds fantastic for me to make this claim,
I really feel that I'm composed of each remembered name.
And while you may not be aware of any special "link",
Just meeting you has changed my life a lot more than you think.
For once I've met somebody, the years cannot erase
The memory of a pleasant word or of a friendly face.
So, never think my Christmas cards are just a mere routine
Of names upon a Christmas list, forgotten in between.
For when I send a Christmas card that is addressed to you,
It's because you're on the list of folks I'm indebted to.
For I am but a total of the many folks I've met,
And you happen to be one of those I never will forget.
And whether I have known you for many years or few,
In some way you have had a part in shaping things I do.
And every year when Christmas comes I realize anew,
The best gift life can offer is meeting folks like you.
And may the spirit of Christmas that forever more endures
Leave its richest blessings in the hearts of you and yours.
The Melted Snowman
Last night I heard a knock -
It was a snowman outside my door
Asking if he could come inside
And play upon my floor...
"Oh", he cried , "What am I wouldn't do,
To sleep in a big, warm bed!
"But, I'm forced to stand outside,
In the freezing cold instead..."
Next thing we knew, a cold wind blew
Mr. Snowman right through my door,
And now there's nothing left of him,
But a puddle on the floor...
Christmas Joy
Christmas may be many things
Or it may be a few.
For you, the joy
Is each new toy...
For me
It's watching you!
Coal
Santa looked at his list,
Even checked it twice.
And he found out,
That you haven't been nice!
It made the big guy very miffed,
Looks like coal's your only gift!
Christmas Angel
I'm not the smallest angel,
Nor a perfect one 'tis true,
And I'm not always so angelic
In everything I do.
But when I'm sad or frightened,
Or happy and okay,
You're the ones who love me
each and every day.
And though often I'm mistaken
This I know is true:
That I'm a special Christmas Angel
For I belong to you.
Child's First Christmas Poems
Dear Santa, please note
That on Christmas this year,
There's a new little fellow
We all hold so dear.
He's tiny and precious
And can't understand
The gladness of holding
A toy in his hand.

Dear Santa, I'm writing
'Cause he's much too small,
A wee little angel
Not quite a yard tall,
But oh, he's so precious,
His face wrapped in smiles;
He's all of our Christmas;
He loves and beguiles.
Dear Santa, his stocking
Is so very wee,
Perhaps you shall miss it
Beneath the huge tree,
But do treat it gently
And leave him a toy,
for though he's quite tiny
He's our pride and joy.
He's loving and happy,
So much joy he gives;
His heart filled with laughter
Each day that he lives.
We've told him you're coming,
Of presents and cheer;
We're certain, dear Santa,
He'll know you next year.

On baby's first Christmas
There's a beautiful tree
With many bright colors
For baby to see
Along baby's crib
Bells that jingle are strung
And close by the chimney
Baby's stocking is hung
On baby's first Christmas
There's wonderful joy
In giving to baby
That first special toy --
A ball or a rattle,
A soft teddy bear
That baby will cuddle
And take everywhere
On baby's first Christmas
It's easy to find
That one tiny child
Brings another to mind
For baby reminds us
In a tangible way
That Jesus was born
On that first Christmas day.
