Winter Update I thought it was time for a quick winter update. All the ponies are enjoying some time out in the paddocks with their full winter coats. Won't be long now and the sleek ponies underneath will begin to appear thank goodness. Fox and Conway Park Santana have been in work over the winter doing some dressage days. We are looking forward to the APSB Action day coming up in August. Conway Park Jordie has been broken in and is starting to work nicely under saddle. This is a pony for the serious pony dressage person. Several ponies have found new homes recently. Congrats to Michelle Ellis from Hunters Hill stud on the purchase of Keyi Chance who is in foal to Winddale Merwyn. Chance will join Conway Park Jasmine. We look forward to seeing how Chance crosses with Michelle's lovely Part Welsh stallion Fairlight Acres Splendor. Lisa Harris has certainly been a welcome new friend for us. Lisa has purchased our lovely black mare Alpha Foxtrot who is expecting a foal to Winddale Merwyn. She has also purchased the beautiful Tooravale Pageant as a saddle pony and Conway Park Vanilla Bean as a future saddle prospect. We wis her all the best with these ponies and we look forward to sending more ponies her way in the future. We have a few more youngsters we would like to find homes to allow us more time with break in and working the ponies so please have a look at the for sale page. A new addition is Burrowa Rapsody in Black, a rising 3yo black cob filly that we feel very fortunate to own, Thanks to Sue and Ace Coughlan. We look forward to showing Inky in and breaking her in as soon as she seems ready. Decisions are now being made about which ponies to show this season. We are really looking forward to this season. Welsh National Show Leanne and I travelled up to Tatura with Eira Foxglove and Conway Park Jericoe. Fox started the show with a 2nd in her ridden cob class. Fox then won her in hand Welsh Section D mare class (Thanks to Troy). I was so pleased with Jericoe in his yearling class. He was really well behaved for a 5th behind 4 fillies. Thanks to all those who passed on their compliments about this colt. At the sale that evening we were very pleased to purchase the lovely section C yearling gelding Indi Ricochet. At the show the following day Jericoe placed 2nd in his Yearling section B colt class. Jericoe is now turned out for the winter for a well earned break. We look forward to presenting him again as a 2yo. Many thanks to Mark Brown from Indi stud who kindly showed Ricky for us. We were delighted when he won his gelding class and went on to win Champion C and D youngstock gelding. We are looking forward to bringing Ricky out in hand as a 2yo before coming out the following season under saddle. Thanks to Mum for the tireless work she does on the home front making sure our show horses look fabulous and our breeding stock are getting everything they need. We hope that next season we won't be bottle feeding a foal so she can get out to more shows.
Thanks also to Leanne Hearn who as always does a wonderful job riding Fox. Fox is off to do dressage over the winter and we know we are yet to see Fox at her ridden best so look forward to next season.
Barastoc We took up Eira Foxglove and Conway Park Jericoe to Barastoc on the Saturday. Our yearling colt Jericoe impressed us no end by winning the yearling B class in the Mountain and Moorland classes. He took this big and busy show in his stride. Eira Foxglove won her Mountain and Moorland class and went on to win Champion Mountain and Moorland Mare. In the welsh classes she won the Section D mare class and then went on to win Champion senior Section D. We were thrilled when she was awarded Supreme Section D. On Sunday Fox made the trip to Barastoc again for her saddle classes. We were very happy when Fox won her ridden section D class. We were very surprised and excited when she was awarded Reserve Champion Ridden Welsh as she was amongst some top quality ponies. Well ridden Leanne.
