'Consonance' choir Polish Song Youth Choir “Consonance” was formed in 1998, March 10. The initiative of creating such kind of collective belonged to the Republican Center of National Cultures in Minsk whose aim is to develop cultural activities of national minorities who live at the territory of the Belarus.
Owing to joint actions of this Center and also of Polish Scientific Society and a young conductor, Master of Arts, Helen Isajkina the Polish Song Youth Choir “Consonance” was finally formed.
In our choir there are students from different Universities, Institutes and colleges of Minsk. Many of them have Polish roots and speak Polish fluently. What unites us all is love of choir singing and deep interest in Polish culture, language and customs. Therefore the main direction of our activity is popularization of Polish choral music in its variety, beginning with half-forgotten masterpieces of the past and finishing with the latest samples of modern music.
Although Polish composers works form the basis of our repertoire we are also greatly interested in European choral musical heritage whose inseparable part is Polish choral music. That is why in our repertoire you can find masterpieces of Baroque and Renaissance Ages composers: classics as well as modern authors.
Polish Song Youth Choir “Consonance” lives an active creative life. We have been giving concerts of Spiritual music in churches. In 1999 and 2000 we participated in Spiritual Music Festivals in Minks and in Poland (one of them is festival of Sacred Song Lapskie Te Deum.) where our performance was awarded special prizes.
In the center of our creative activity there is mainly the development of young people. Therefore we are eager to establish contacts with similar students choirs in Poland.
We would also be much interested in establishing links with Polish societies in other countries of the World.
We would be happy to get offers both from groups and from individuals.

Together we shall do more! Lapskie Te Deum
