About

Welcome to Colourful Chaos!

You have come across a site made by me, Narine. I am a production assistant at an ad agency by day and designer of funky clothes/accessories by night! Colourful Chaos is my creative outlet.

The Beginning
I've always been a crafter. My mom used to do lots of crafts when I was younger so we have loads of lace, fabric, ribbon and crafty stuff laying around the house, unused. In high school I was really into colourful beads and I started out making simple bracelets to wear to school. In my 2nd last year of high school I took a fashion course and was disappointed when my teacher said all we would be making was pajama pants. The older kids got to make their own line of clothes and have a fashion show! So I said I would for sure do the same the following year. Sadly, that teacher left and my new teacher was all "Fashion shows are wrong, plus, what could you do anyways?". I showed her. The next year, even though I was not enrolled in a Fashion couse, I threw a fashion show! Well, not *me* alone but a small group of us. I had my own scene of about 6 outfits which my mom helped me sew. It was the greatest, I had sooo much fun!

The Middle
For about a year I did nothing. That's right, nothing. My life was weird and I basically spent a whole year being a computer nerd. In October of 2004 I discovered Dread falls. I loved them, and somehow I ended up selling them on E-bay. I'd had an account for 2 years prior but never used it! Thus, the E-bay adventure began. I called my stuff "Candy Creations" because Candy just made me think of colour, sweetness and fun. I like colour! Eventually once I basically got bored of dread falls, I dove into sewing again. I improved my skills, learned new techniques and sold those on E-bay.

Now
Candy Creations changed names early 2006. Why? I needed a change. For one, I felt Candy Creations was too plain and not descriptive enough. Colourful Chaos seemed to describe my style better. All the things I tend to make are colourful but with a lot of craziness and chaos. I like to keep things cute and funky but still with that bit of edge. Something to make it stand out. So today, Colourful Chaos sells occasionally on E-bay but mostly I set up shop once a year at The Clothing Show in Toronto.
