Biography

My full name is Corey Michael Mead and I was born on October 3rd 1970 in Huron, South Dakota.  I am the oldest of three children and I have two great parents who have been married for 30 years.  I spent my entire childhood and adolescent life in Huron, before moving onward.  I attended Madison elementary

school, where great dreams of being a professional football player were established during recess.  I then went on to attend Huron middle and Senior high schools, where I excelled in academics, football, basketball and track.

In the fall of 1989, my best friend Chris and I, set off for college in Moorhead, MN (Moorhead State U).  Ever since I was young, I had a deep interest in weather, so I decided to pursue a degree in meteorology.  I attended Moorhead State for two years, before transferring to Saint Cloud State U. in St. Cloud, MN.  After three years of school there, I graduated in the spring of 1994 with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in meteorology.

In the fall of 1994, I excepted a meteorologist intern position with the National Weather Service in Midland, TX.  I was there until the spring of 1997, when I was re-assigned to the National Weather Service office in Jackson, MS.  In the spring of 1998, I accepted a promotion to meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, NE and have been there ever since.  I love my work and can't think of too many other things I would rather be doing.

Outside of work, much of my time is currently being spent with my amateur bodybuilding career.  You can see more information about that on my bodybuilding page.  Another big interest of mine is related to my work and that is severe weather.  I have been storm chasing since 1994 and continue to do so, although not as much as in the past.  More information about that can be found on my severe weather page.  Otherwise, enjoy hanging out with my friends, going to clubs and occasionally movies.  I have found a great Lutheran church here in Omaha, which I attend as frequently as possible.  That's pretty much my life in a nutshell.
