Use Cisco IOS
commands and problem isolation techniques to identify the symptoms
of common WAN and Frame Relay problems
Step 1
- Check the interface connecting to the
Frame Relay switch
show interface serial 0/0
- Review the interface status, if
- Serial0/0 is down, line protocol
is down
Then enter the serial0/0 and type
no shutdown
- Serial0/0 is up, line protocol
is down
Then check its controller
show controller s0/0
- Verify its status
Encapsulation FRAME-RELAY, loopback not set
Keepalive set (10 sec)
LMI enq sent 69, LMI stat recvd 0, LMI upd recvd 0,
DTE LMI down
LMI enq recvd 0, LMI stat sent 0, LMI upd sent 0
LMI DLCI 1023 LMI type is CISCO frame relay DTE
