America mourns, amid the debris

Of the heinous crime perpetrated on the land of the free

Buildings tumbled, lives were lost

Grown men cried at the horror wrought

Time will pass and hearts will heal,

But the memory and the feelings, we won't conceal

We'll bury our dead and with unwavering resolve,

Our nation will grow stronger as we look to God


Never forget what you witnessed today

It's an ominous sign of the world's decay

We as a nation have become the example for the world

Our grief will be deep but our strength will prevail

As you look at the skyline of a city in pain

Let us embrace our countrymen, as they do the same

Remember your loved ones, remember to pray

An act of war has been proclaimed today


We as a nation have stood the test

We won't bow under and we'll never rest

Our arms still reach across the world

Our flag fly's high, its stripes unfurled

The stars still sparkle, our freedom reigns

Nothing can diminish our country's pain

United we'll stand against any attack,

We'll show the world, America fights back!
