hi Sharon
for now you can create a folder called photos and put them in files, Yahoo has told us that we will be getting a photo album later. database is an area that you can put in data like an address book and be able to search using whatever titles you like i.e.. by name , by phone # etc. you can use their suggestions for a database or create your own. why not start one to get an idea for it using info you know :-)

Sharon-

I have seen a note in Yahoo Groups/eGroups that said
it can take a while for postings to show up. It does
not happen as quick with Yahoo Groups as it does with
the clubs. Another thing I don't like.

Patience is a virtue! Especially since we are dealing
with Yahoo!

Subject: Hello!

I have to say that I like this "new" merger, so far. I haven't really
had a chance to play around with it, but I did notice the change the
other day when going to my egroups. I do like that we can add club
pictures/logos, thats a nice feature. It was pretty easy to figure
out.Sorta like the old egroups, but I have more control. I was also
wanting to know, will our yahoo clubs be changing?? Will this be our
new format/layout? Also am I able to change the background in my
yahoo club now? Thanks for any info/advice! :o)

posting a second time
this time from web site

hello everyone
it would seem that somethings can be done without leaving a name.
Someone sch. a chat today, and i dont know who and it doesnt matter.
But i have learned that if i let members used the calendar that i
must make a rule that they include their name either in the title or
the description eg.nowaywins chat 2-4 pm
I have not sch a chat for today!

Your right Roger. In Yahoo Clubs, the name of the member that posted
is automatically put in the calendar, but in this case with yahoo
groups, its not.

People, when playing in the club please remember that posts go to
everyone. Calender posts are auto sent from the Group through the
mail. That is how the chat schedule went out. So if your going to
play, make sure you make note or remove events that really aren't
going to take place.

Thanks

now here's something interesting that was pointed out to me tonight.
If you want to reply to a posting, if you reply from the club
(message board), the return addy is a drop box giving you the option
of replying to everyone, the poster, or to the owner of the group

Sharon and others:

To add a club logo, you first need to have the URL of where the
picture is stored. How do you find this you ask? Well wherever on line
that your picture is, go to it, click on the picture and in the
location bar at the top of your browser, copy that URL and then go
back to the Yahoo group. Click on settings on the right bottom of the
page, and scroll down to where it says PHOTO. Click on EDIT and there
you will PASTE that url. Click Save changes and you "should" ahve a
new club photo.

Now here is something interesting that you will want to know. Unlike
yahoo clubs, Yahoo group does NOT standardize the size of the picture.
Meaning if your photo or picture is 200X200 pixles yahoo club will
resize it to 150X150 for you. In Yahoo groups, that doesn't happen,
you will see a 200X200 picture. Please be aware of the size of the
file you are using! A picture too big will over power yours and others
screens.
