Most CARA leagues are members of the International Gay Bowling Organization (IGBO).

There are over 150 member leagues in IGBO with over 10,000 bowlers
in these leagues. This includes leagues in the USA, Canada,New Zealand, and Australia. Additionally, IGBO also has individual members in other countries.

Each spring IGBO sponsors an Annual Memorial Day Tournament attended by hundreds of national and international gay and lesbian bowlers and their friends. In the fall IGBO sponsors a Mid Year IGBO Tournament. IGBO representatives from each member league vote on which competing city will host the Annual and Mid Year tournaments. Additionally, IGBO assist member leagues in holding over fifty tournaments in the United States and Canada.

Among its other functions, IGBO publishes a quarterly newsletter magazine and sponsors a quilt program to remember members who have died of AIDS.
