CARA is a member supported organization composed of gay and lesbian bowling leagues in the Metropolitan Washington D.C. Area.

Our Mission

It shall be the objective and purpose of CARA to coordinate and promote the sport of bowling for men and women in the Washington D.C. area Gay Community. CARA's goals are to:

1. Provide information and reference materials to all member leagues to encourage participation in inter-league, local, national and international events.
2. Hold inter-league tournaments and support gay bowling events such as CHIT and IGBO events around the country.
3. Administer an incentive awards program.
4. Sponsor skill enhancement programs to increase the bowling skills of its members at all levels.
5. Provide assistance in the establishment of new leagues and events.
6. Provide visibility of gay leagues through events such as the annual Capital Pride Festival.
7. Unite the members, teams and leagues in the Washington D.C. area.
8. Encourage good sportsmanship and fair play.
9. Provide counsel and assistance to member leagues.
