Function Keys.Short Cuts!
This is a great time saver for emails,surfing the net and chat, ( depending on what you choose to program into your own "F" keys! )
You will notice you have a line of "F" keys running along the top of your key board.To program them with your personal items,do the following.
Press S1 on your key board and click on the option menu.A menu then appears with all sorts of stuff on, but you want "keyboard" Click on keyboard,and you then see the next page which says "assign function keys. Click on either F1-F6 or F7-F12 .You do this by moving across with your directional arrow keys.After choosing which set you wish to program, press enter.You now see F1 to F6 (or F7 to F12 depending on your choice)listed on your left hand side.Click on your desired key, and you can then delete what is already there,and type in what you want the key to be.For example,F1 could say www. You can delete that and type,@uk.dreamcast.com Once you have finished and are happy with what you have, press enter, and move to the next "F" key.
Repeat this process until you are satisfied with your keys, then click down to the bottom of the page, and press ok.This takes you back to the previous page, again, click on ok, and so on.Once you come out of the option section, it will take you to a page showing a picture of you memory card.Press ok and all your new commands will be permanantly stored on your VMU (memory card) If you don`t have a VMU, it will not save for next time.Every time you come online, your "F" keys will have the data you programmed into them, therefore saving you more time to get on with more important things!
Examples of what are stored on my "F" keys are: F1=www. F2=@uk.dreamcast.com , F3=/tell ( buddies name ) When typing in /tell on your function keys, remember to put a space after /tell and a space after your buddies name, this makes life on chat 100% faster, and is worth the time and effort you put in to program your keys!
