And Out Of Nowhere She Came

Summary: Michael, Max, Isabel and Jennifer return *home* with some
extra baggage. (ie:Maria/Michael, Isabel/Alex, & Max/Liz)

Part 8
Continuum from Part 7
*Everyone is headed down the highway when Michael and Maria noticed a
large van following them.*
Maria turns from the passengers side and says "Is it me or is that car
going the same way as us?" "I don't think it's you, Maria." Jennifer
whispered from her lap. Michael turned and looked behind them with
worry in his eyes. "I sure the hell hope it's just you Maria." Michael
commented. "Me too!" She said with the same worry in his eyes. Michael
turned forward and sped the car up.
Isabel and Alex who were in the back seat heard the car speeding up
behind them but what they didn't know was that both cars were being
followed by another car. Max heard the screeching tires coming up
behind them and started speeding their car up faster. Liz turned and
noticed that there were two cars behind them. Liz jerked her head
forward and without saying anything Max already knew what she wanted.
Michael was speeding as fast as he could with Jennifer sitting in
Maria's lap screaming, because she had never been in anything speeding
at that rate and she was terrified. Maria sat in the seat holding the
screaming child trying to breath herself. She kept turning her head
behind them and then forward again like she knew who was following them
right away.

Max, Liz, Isabel and Alex finally made it the crash site and had lost
the car behind them. In doing so they had also lost Michael, Maria and
Jennifer. Out of the blue Liz opened her mouth and said "I think we
were mistaken. I think this is what the dream meant. We're here and
they're not." "I don't know why our being here early would have
anything with glowing rocks?" "It's a metaphor, meaning it represents
our feeling empty and alone knowing they could be in danger and yet we
feel it isn't our place to interfere. They have to get here on their
own." Liz explained to Isabel the answer to her own question.
As soon as Liz said those last words Maria's car pulled up right next
to the jeep. Maria, Jennifer and Michael each stepped out of the car
looking winded. "We lost the car." Michael gasped out still trying to
catch his breath. When they all heard a hissing noise coming from the
sky. They all looked up and saw what I guess you could call a UFO. It
was a metallic color, it looked like mixture of blue and silver with
specks of green. It gently rocked back and fourth as it landed.
Maria and Jennifer both gasped at the sight above them. Michael reached
out and grabbed Maria and Jennifer pulled them close to him. Liz threw
herself into Max's arms and Isabel reached out and grabbed Alex's hand
holding it as tight as she possibly could. It landed in front of them
and as the door began to open the car that Michael swore he had lost,
pulled up by the rest of the cars. And to Jennifer's amazement Kathleen
Topolsky stepped out with a younger boy around her age.
Jennifer was the only one who saw the little boy. The other's eyes were
either focused on Ms. Topolsky or the ship. Jennifer managed to squeeze
out of Maria and Michael's grip. She slowly walked up to the little boy
when Kathleen walked up to her and said in the sweetest voice bending
down on one knee "You must be Jennifer, I've heard a lot about you from
my superiors." "And just who would they be?" Michael replied standing
behind Jennifer.
Topolsky : "Why the beings on that ship behind you, of course."
Michael : "Lady, you've been in our business since day one and you
expect me to believe that your on our side."
Topolsky : "Don't believe me but it appears you have been misinformed.
This young man over here also was on your ship but unfortunately he
did not find young Jennifer here. Kinda like the way you didn't ...."
Isabel : "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" She screams
in a high pitched voice.
Everyone turns to her direction and sees why she started screaming.
Michael grabbed Jennifer up and ran to where the other's stood not
aware that the little boy was on his tail. Isabel didn't scream from
the figure standing in the door of the ship, who was a high yellow. She
screamed when Alex pointed out that her arm was changing to a mellow
red with a vibrant light illuminating from it. Then there was another
yelp but this time in Michael's ear. He looked down at the child he was
holding and noticed she was changing into a neon pink. He set the
little girl down noticing his arm turning gold, but that's not what
fazed him it was the little boy Topolsky had said was like them that
frightened him he was turning a neon orange and the look on his face
matched the look on Michael's. Then Max looked down at his arm and
noticing it changing to a deep blue, bluer than the sky. The look on
his face was different from the other four who were changing he had a
look pleasantness like he enjoyed changing to his natural form.
Then the being standing on the ship directed a question to Topolsky,
but he never opened his mouth and yet every being standing there even
the humans understood what he was saying as if he was saying it out
loud. "Kathleen you have succeeded and I am very proud of you my child.
If your parents were still alive I'm sure they would be very proud of
their only child's success." Topolsky smiled and gave him a smile from
ear to ear. The others there who had known Ms. Topolsky had never seen
her face with a more sincere smile.
A sharp screech broke everyone's eyes away from Topolsky when they all
turned Maria was lying on the ground curled in a ball screaming. When
they all turned to her, her skin was turning a shiny silver and it was
letting off a brighter light then any of them. Then something told Max
to turn as he did he had almost missed catching Liz who was now turning
a delicate purple with a more of a mist surrounding her. Isabel turned
to Alex who's eyes were concentrated on his best friends not even
noticing his body changing to a shimmering green. When Isabel touched
his shoulder the were both knocked off their feet and hit the ground
extremely hard but neither of them felt a thing.
Michael couldn't turn to look at Alex nor Liz his eyes were on the
quivering body below his feet he bent down and scooped her up and her
eyes shoot open and all the pain she was feeling left her body. She
looked deep into Michael's now pure golden eyes. As she looked into
them she felt no pain, no worry, nothing. He leaned in and kissed her
so passionately she thought if their kiss was broken her body would go
limp and she would die that very moment.
Then the voice appeared in all their heads and none of them remembered
he or Topolsky was there until he opened their minds with his words.
None of them had even noticed that Topolsky had turned a deep turquoise
until now. "My children you have all formed your natural forms and are
ready to go home." The voice said in a sweet yet smooth tone. Maria
looked up to speak but nothing came out her mouth. The voice again
spoke but this time to Maria who wanted to speak. "Child speak with
you mind not your mouth." Maria thought about his words and said "Your
children? I'm from earth. I'm an earthling. I don't understand
what...." she was cut off by the voice saying "You were an earthling
but now you are a Zenith. You have, each of you have made a connection.
With that connection you have chosen the path to follow. You have
abandoned your species for the discoveries of the one's you love. You
have chosen to keep their secret and with their secret your love for
them followed. You now are one of my children, no matter how stubborn
you choose to be. You may not have been born a Zenith but your love has
lead you to become a Zenith and that love will lead you to follow the
Zenith customs."
"Excuse me?" They all heard the voice and they all knew was speaking
because only one had that tone of voice to begin with, Maria. "Yes."
The voice answered. "This can't be happening. First I learn my best
friend is saved by an 'alien,' then I find a young one wandering on the
side of the road after be abducted by another one and learn everything
that they know. Then I learn I'm falling head over heels for one of
them. And now you want to tell me that I'm turning into one. Is this
even possible?"
As those words came out her mouth Michael who was steal holding her
leaned in and kissed her. One to make her shut up, even though she
wasn't talking with her mouth, and two because he just couldn't help
himself.
"Ewww! God, do you two have to do that in front of everyone?" Everyone
turned to face Isabel cause there was only one who could break the
moment like that. "What?" The figure standing by the door started
laughing lightly and looked at Alex who had been staring at him with
interest the hole time and said "Will someone shut her up?" Directing
that comment straight to Alex. Alex turned very slowly and leaned in
and kissed her stopping her from making anymore rude comments. Before
Liz could make any comments on her friends Max leaned in and kissed her.
The two little kids standing under Michael and Maria started giggling.
Everyone turned to them and started giggling themselves remembering
doing the same thing when they saw people kissing.
"Are you all ready?" The voice said breaking their laughter. Everyone
turned and looked at each other and shook their heads yes. Max held on
to Liz's hand as tight as he could not wanting to let her go and walked
aboard the ship first. Alex and Isabel followed then Jennifer and the
little boy, who's name was Tommy, walked aboard. Michael and Maria
hesitated but then walked in after them. Topolsky was the last on the
ship and as she entered it she turned looked out the closing door and
whispered "I sure am going to miss this horrible place."
