Wednesday, December 9th, Kelly’s apartment… Kelly was long gone before Madison woke up. Riley was sleeping on the leather couch again and Madison scolded him as she came down the stairs, “Riley, off now!!!” Riley wagged his tail and nuzzled Madison’s legs to show that he was sorry. She knealt down and patted him, “I don’t hate you, you’re a good boy.” Riley barked and went down and laid down under the kitchen table. Kelly’s wet running shoes were under the table where he laid. Above them on the table was an empty dirty cereal bowl. Madison smiled when she realized that Kelly had actually sat down and ate breakfast after her run. “She’s trying. I knew Kevin would be good for her.” She cleaned Kelly’s bowl and put it in the dishwasher. She was still in her pajamas when she sat down to a bowl of cereal herself. Madison looked around the apartment as she ate and saw that the girls hadn’t been too neat the past week. As much as Madison hated cleaning, she knew it would be nice if Kelly came home to a clean house. Madison didn’t have to check in with the other model’s and the show director until 4:00 later in the afternoon so she had plenty of time to clean. She put her bowl in the dishwasher and set her sights on cleaning up the huge apartment. Madison was coming down the spiral staircase from doing a load of laundry when the doorbell rang. Madison freaked. She knew that neither Kelly or her were expecting any visitors. She was afraid that it was the guy on the phone so she did the only thing she knew to do. She ran and grabbed the phone and dialed the guys cell phone. It rang a few times before Madison realized that another cell phone was ringing in the house somewhere too. She figured it was Kelly’s and waited for one of the guys to pick up. Just then a voice picked up on the line, “Hello? Donna?” Madison answered breathlessly, “No, no Brian. This is Madison!!” Brian laughed, “What’s up girl?” the doorbell rang again and Madison flipped, “Brian! Somebody’s at the door and I’m not expecting anyone. What do I do?” Brian got very serious, “Madison, stay on the line and go check the door, just stay on the line with me.” The doorbell rang again and Madison walked slowly towards the door, “Ok Brian. I’m at the door. I’m going to put the phone in my robe pocket and answer it.” Brian heard muffling as Madison put the phone in her pocket. He heard Madison open the door and then all he heard was screaming… “Oh my god!! What the hell?” Madison stood astonished staring at Brian on his cell phone. Brian was laughing so hard that he had to sit down. Madison helped him up and let him into the kitchen. She sat him down and started to make him a cup of coffee before he started to explain. “I thought I’d surprise you and just stop by. Sorry for the short notice, but then you freaked out, don’t get me wrong, you have a right to and all, but you called me on my cell I thought I’d just play along.” Madison sat down with a cup of tea for Brian. “Oh, now I understand. When I called your cell I heard another one ring around the house and it was yours behind the door the whole time.” She softly punched him on the shoulder, “You scared the crap out of me. It nice to see you though.” Brian leaned over the table and kissed her on the lips. “Nice to see you too. I can’t wait to see you tonight though in your show. Now it’s you turn to impress me. What were you doing before I decided to stop by?” Madison laughed, “Well, other than lounging around in my pajamas I was cleaning this monster of an apartment up for Kelly. I have to leave at 4:00 for the pre-show make-up and I want it clean before I leave. What were you doing?” Brian thought for a moment and then spoke, “Well, Kev is the guy to clean up and all, but I guess I’m helping you clean. Cool?” Madison shook her head and kissed Brian on the cheek, “Thanks hon. Disregard my attire though. I wasn’t expecting any visitors, but I guess you’ll do.” Brian smiled at her and took their mugs to the sink and put them in the dishwasher. He turned and asked, “Where do we start?” I don’t know Kelly’s apartment well, but if you give me a job I’ll get it done.” Madison looked around, “You could start and dust wherever there’s dust. Here’s a rag and some Pledge. I’ll be upstairs and in Kelly’s room cleaning.” She started walking through the door into Kelly’s room and then turned and sexily added, “But I wouldn’t mind any unexpected visitors this time.” She waved and headed off to do her job. Brian shook his head and got down to his dusting job, not before turning on ESPN though. Same day, at the hospital… “Paging Dr. Riley. Front office at once.” Kelly was stitching up a little boy who had split his forehead open when he slipped in the bathtub. She was finishing just as the page came over the intercom. She stuck a bandaid on his stitches, “there you go little man. Be careful from now on. All right?” He smiled and took his chart to his mom. Kelly walked out behind him and towards the front office. She still had her on because the little boy had been bleeding so bad when he came in. Kelly saw a tall man waiting at the office, then she remembered. “Kevin, god, I’m sorry! I completely forgot. I was just stitching up a little boy.” She lifted her bloody gloves up to show him.” “Oh, very attractive my dear. Please go cleanup before I get sick.” Kellt turned and walked toward the medic sink. “Come on with me. I have to clean up good.” Kevin agreed. He silently watched as she pulled her gloves off her slim hands. She ran the soap and water carefully and cleaned them well. Kevin loved her hands. He wondered how many people she had saved with them. She turned around and dried off. She smiled, “ready?” Kevin nodded. He was falling in love with every part of Kelly. “Now that you’re clean I guess we can go. Where to? I promised you that you could pick the place.” Kelly thought for a second, “All right, hmmm. How about McGee’s across the street? I go there a lot for a late cup of coffee.” Kevin smiled, “Sure.” The two had an awkward silence for a moment before Kelly broke it and headed out the doors. Kevin followed her and they walked past the nurses station towards the exit. Austin was sitting there and as Kelly walked by she said, “Bye Aus. Be back in half an hour.” She continued on past the station towards the door but Kevin stopped and turned back to look at Austin. What he saw scared him. Austin looked like he was about to explode and the look in Austin’s eyes scared him even more. He quickly hurried up to catch up with Kelly. He was hesitant, but he carefully took Kelly’s hand. She flinched when he did but he just squeezed it and kissed her on the top of her nose. He looked into her eyes as she looked at him. He whispered in her ear and it sent chills through her. “Trust is what starts and ends with a relationship. Trust me and know that I won’t hurt you.” Kelly turned embarrassed at his private words, but at that moment she knew her life had changed. She smiled and stood closer to him and he put his arm around her and they walked into the snowy afternoon for a quiet lunch. |
