Meanwhile, back at the hospital…
Kevin had just dropped Kelly back off at the hospital. He had managed to keep the secret that they would see each other later in the night at the model show. She didn’t seem to notice when he kept changing the subject when she asked him what he was doing for the rest of the day. Kelly only had a couple of more hours before she had to get on home and get ready for the show. She picked up her charts and happily headed back off to work. It made Austin sick to see her act this way and he planned on doing something about it.
Kelly’s apartment…
The alarm went off and woke Brian and Madison up with a start. “Good lord, what the hell was that?” Brian cleared his eyes and rolled over Madison and shut the alarm off. He got up and helped Madison out of bed. “It’s been a great day, but I know that you’ve got to get ready, so I’m out of here.” He took her hand and the two walked down the stairs and to the door. He kissed her and said, “Till tonight huh? Good luck!! I’ll be watching!” He kissed her again and walked down the stairs. He waved when he got to the car and then left. Madison was so happy she was glowing. She ran back upstairs to change into some clothes so that she could head off to the pre-show. Madison taped a note on the door for Kelly and zipped up her Northface and headed off to the show.
Hey! It’s me! I know I said I had to leave at 7:00 but I forgot and I had to leave at 4:00. I set your dress on your bed. Your tickets to get into the show are there too. Be sure to look good. You never know who could be there. Riley needs to be fed. You’re welcome for cleaning up the house. Later, Madison
Kelly pulled the note off the door and read it. She stepped inside the apartment and shook off the snow. Riley jumped p to greet her and she smiled, “Hey little boy! You need some dinner, huh?” Riley wagged his tail and sprinted to his bowl. Kelly fed him and then plopped down on the couch. She had come home early so that she could talk to Madison before the show. Kelly had an hour before she had to start getting ready. She picked up the phone and dialed Kevin’s hotel. “I can’t get him out of my head. Why am I doing this to myself. In a couple of days he’ll be gone anyways and then what am I going to do.”
AJ picked up after a couple of rings, “Hello?” Kelly spoke up, “Hey, it’s me, Kelly. Is Kevin there?” AJ laughed. Kevin had just left for the pre-show. He knew he would have to tell a little lie to Kelly. “Uh, no Doc. He ain’t here. He’s, uh, out Christmas shopping for his family or something, I don’t know. What’s up with you other than saving lives and all?” Kelly was disappointed that Kevin wasn’t around but decided to talk to AJ anyways. “well, I don’t have to start getting ready for Madison’s show for an hour or so, so I’m just hanging. How about you?” AJ panicked and didn’t know what to say, “We are all getting ready for too, uh, for Kevin’s show. Remember, he’s modeling too. I don’t know for what though.” Kelly answered, “He didn’t say anything to me about his show today at lunch. I knew he was modeling, but not today. Why wouldn’t he want me to go?” AJ stammered, “He, uh, he didn’t want you to feel obligated that you had ro come see him, since you had Madison’s show and all that. Kev’s uh, always thinking like that, watching for people’s feelings and all. Hate to go sweetie, but I have to finish getting ready. I’ll tell Kev you called. Later babe.” Kelly laughed, “Thanks AJ.” Kelly wondered afterwards what was up with AJ and all his stammering. She figured he probably really didn’t have any clue about what was going on and she forgot about it. She decided to start getting ready so she could leave a little earlier for the show because of the snow.
An hour later she had showered and was ready. The dress that Madison had picked for her was perfect. It was long and fit her like a glove. It was sexy and revealing and she knew she looked good. She slipped on his Chinese sandals, and checked herself one more time. “I wish Kevin could see me tonight.” She smiled in the mirror and left to go watch Madison strut her stuff on the runway.
Backstage, before the show…
“Kevin, you ready to show yourself before your new found honey?” Madison asked. Kevin was a bit nervous to perform in front of Kelly and he didn’t know why. He just hoped he wouldn’t make a fool of himself. Madison left him because she was on the runway first for the opening minutes. Kevin had his first outfit on for the show, so he just sat and waited for his turn. He heard the music start which meant that the show was about to start. His heart jumped when he realized that in a few minutes he would get to see Kelly again.
Traffic had been bad and Kelly arrived to the show just minutes before it started. Many heads turned as the usher escorted her to her table where she was sitting. Much to her surprise she was sitting with the rest of the guys. She said hi but none of the guys answered her, they were all staring instead. Brian quickly stood up and kissed her on the cheek, “Wow, you look great.” He pulled her chair out and she sat down. It was her turn to say something. “All right guys, what are you doing here? AJ told me you were all going to see Kevin perform, not Madison.” She stopped when she realized. “Oh, don’t tell me y’all surprised me again and that he’s modeling here too.” AJ laughed, “Sorry I had to lie Doc, but he wanted to surprise you.” Kelly smiled when he mentioned Kevin. “That’s cool, just no more surpris…” Before she could finish the lights dimmed and the music started.
