"According to the Berkey Book, Christian and his wife and family moved in the spring of 1808 to Clarke Co. IN, in 1814 to Jackson Co., about 15 miles north of Salem. Most of their 13 children were born in Somerset Co. PA
Names and dates for children are found in vertical file, Berkey family, at the Somerset Co. (PA) Historical Society. That file states that these children were listed in 1873 by their son Jonas Breniser Berkey.

The 1830 U.S. Census Pennsylvania/Westmoreland Cty/Derry Township/page 170 lists Peter Breniser Family. No names, but I have inserted my calculations: 1 male under 5 (Henry); 2 males 5-9 (Abram, Peter); 2 males 10-14 (Jacob, John); 1 male 40-49 (Peter); 2 females under 5 (Nancy, Elizabeth); 1 female 5-9 (Matilda); 1 female 10-14 (Barbara); 1 female 15-19 (Catherine); 1 female 30-39 (Elizabeth).
The 1860 U.S. Census Pennsylvania/Westmoreland Cty/Derry Township lists Peter Breniser 60 (farmer) Esther 51, Henry 26, Christian 18, Susan 16.
