Introducing

Communication and Educational project

by Esystems

Bountiful Harvest Inc.

Supported by

The "World Artists Fellowship" (WAF)

Executive summary:

Why Esystems and Email for disadvantaged schools?

  • Computers and the Internet are today's essential educational tools.
  • The Internet provides instant access to libraries of information almost free
  • The Internet provides an essential tool for developing leaders in today's world
  • e-mail provides information updates published daily
  • e-mail provides instant communication local or worldwide to one or more people
  • Facts to consider

  • Less than 10% of secondary schools in developing nations have this essential modern tool of communication and information. For every 1000 people in sub Sahara Africa there are less than 5 computers.
  • 60,000 secondary schools in Africa do not have Computer Training Centers.
  • These Esystems are now affordable for remote areas.
  • They must become locally sustainable.
  • Literally thousands of training courses are available to download free
  • One low-cost hard drive will hold libraries of information for each school

    Our Plan

  • Phase 1 - Two professional teams will implement this project beginning in Uganda or Kenya in 2007. One Esystem technical team and one financial Artwork marketing (WAF) team.
  • Phase 2 – Many more areas and schools will follow
  • How It Works

  • The Esystem team will install and train each participating school with a complete12V battery operated HF radio e-mail systems with a master computer and multiple student accessing desktop computers.
  • Connecting to the Internet by HF radio is free air time
  • Since local government HF radio systems approval will take time, satellite or cell phones will be used for a proof of concept in phase 1.
  • The WAF (Artwork) team will provide a business partnership to market original and reproductive artwork produced by participating secondary schools..
  • Original artwork is chosen for the income generator because of it's very high ROI and customer appeal.
  • A point-of-purchase display in the computer section of stores will offer the artwork to charity minded customers.
  • A Coffee Table booklet will be published and sold to Doctor's waiting rooms or other similar sites.
  • These sales in USA outlets will provide a supplementary income that will be sufficient to establish locally sustainable projects.

    The Initial Cost Estimates

  • The initial costs for each school system will be approximately $4000, successive systems will come down in price dramatically.
  • The cost to maintain a 12 V battery operated HF radio e-mail system including 300 student accounts, will be approximately $2000 annually.

Parties interested in ongoing information or providing assistance are invited to contact the project coordinator, William A. Ashe.
