Hi! I'm Emi, and I'm owned by two little budgies named Pablo and Ollie. Although I've owned birds for only a little less than 3 years, I've been researching them for over 5 years during my efforts to convince my parents to allow me to own a bird. I bought Pablo as my first budgie in December of 2001, and my absolute love of birds was finally sparked. Pablo was a stubborn little bird who taught me a lot about patience and persistence, and after about 5 months of owning him we actually began to see eye-to-eye.
Once Pablo was fully tamed, I bought my second budgie, Ollie, in October of 2002. She is a handfed budgie and absolutely loves people's attention! She'll go to any lengths to make sure everybody notices she's there. She also loves Pablo, and they recently moved into a cage together and are so happy in eachother's company. Ollie also is beginning to learn how to mimic what we say, and can whistle so much like my dad that majority of the time I actually think it's him. The newest addition to my fids is my spoiled baby cockatiel Teagan. She came into my life in July 2004 and has made me understand what the word sweet means! Everyday she begs to come out and play and loves her head scritches (whenever a hand comes towards her, she bows her head just waiting for you to pet her!). When visitors come, they always fall in love with little Teagan. I have run a few websites before this, each about birds, and am constantly learning new things about programming websites. I taught myself html so I could do all the programming myself and this website is my favorite thus far. This website was previously ChirpieBird, and before that it was called Bird Palace (thus you'll find my ezboard user name is birdpalace!). I am constantly thinking about ways to improve this website to make it serve all you readers out there better! In addition to birds, I also have three goldfish, one of which is about 3 years old now. About five months ago, I also purchased my first horse, a seven year old liver chestnut thoroughbred named Dee (Rhapsody for long). Even when I bought her after six months of being trained and worked, she is still very green (which mean she is still "young in mind") because her previous owner barely rode her for four years. So far, we get along great, and have been doing a handful of small shows to get her out and experiencing new things!
