ABOUT THE FILM SOCIETY "The Film Society is the preeminent film organization on campus." The society is run by film students for film students. We receive a budget of $8000 a year that can be spent on workshops, guest speakers, equipment, film screenings, and basically anything we want that is beneficial to the society. We also work closely with members of the administration to solve issues and make sure film students are getting the most out of their experience at Brooklyn College. A definitive schedule hasn't been set up yet, but meetings are generally held Tuesdays from 1PM until 2PM in WEB 220. Society Officers President Salvatore Gandolfo ABOUT THE FILM DEPARTMENT The Department of Film at Brooklyn College successfully integrates both film production and film studies, offering two programs of undergraduate study. Students seeking an undergraduate degree may earn a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Film with a concentration in Film Production, Film Studies, Screenwriting or Film Marketing. Students who wish to focus on filmmaking exclusively may take the 2-year Certificate Program in Film with a concentration in Film Production or Screenwriting.
