OLD XENAVERSE NEWS

21st February 2006
-It is official! Lucy has signed on for Season Three of Battlestar Galactica. She is returning to film another 10 episodes in a story arc!

15th January 2006
-Adrienne Wilkinson is no longer a guest for the Australian (Adelaide) TERRA Nova 3 Convention.

29th December 2005 - "Two and a Half Men" Lucy Appearance, Australian Screening.
-Only a few months since Lucy Lawless's film "Locusts" screened on Australian television, now her guest appearance in an episode of "Two and a half Men" can be seen this coming week on Channel Nine, Monday 2nd January at 7:30pm.

29th December 2005 - Australian Screening of Season Two!
-It is reported from Channel Ten that they have brought Season Two of Battlestar Galactica, and the new season will begin airing in February / March, after the ratings period has kicked back into affect. Battlestar isn't yet scheduled on their 2006 line up.

30th September 2005 - Xena Seasons DVD RE-Release in Australia
-Universal Australia is re-releasing ALL 6 seasons of Xena in Half Season box sets. They seem to be doing this a lot lately with tv shows. The sets have brand new cover art and will retail for around $29.83 a half season set. Checkout Ezydvd.com.au to Pre-order now. Release date is next month, Wednesday 12th October. Thanks to Mary D/AUSXIP for the Heads up. I hadn't realised these titles had been listed.

21st September - Kevin Sorbo coming to Australia!
Kevin Sorbo (Hercules / Andromeda) was in Melbourne, Australia this September for a convention. Here are the details to this event:

First Contact Conventions
Date: 11 September 2005.
Place: State Library of Victoria - Village Roadshow Theatre
Entrance 3, La Trobe St (opposite Melbourne Central)
Visit the website for more information.
-Checkout the photos of Kevin Sorbo in Australia for the "First Contact Convention", which was held on September 11th in Melbourne. See the photos here on Castle Software Australia Site.

ROVE LIVE QUEST
-I forwarded these details to Rove Live in the hope that they may book Kevin to appear on their show! (Closest show to that date is Tuesday 13th September). The last time I emailed them at Rove Live about a guest that was coming to Australia in which I wanted them to look into booking for the show, they managed to get him (Barry Williams from The Brady Bunch). So fingers crossed they have Kevin Sorbo on the show!

-Also a note further to me contacting Rove Live about booking Kevin Sorbo for next month I haven't received any reply.

-
This weeks new press release of guests for the upcoming months shows still doesn't include Kevin. The show closest to Kevin Sorbo's Australian tour is Tuesday 13th September. I will confirm this closer to the date but it seems un-likely they have been able to book Kevin for the show.

-Confirmed, Kevin will NOT be on Rove Live sadly.

-Speaking of Rove Live, Jay Laga'aia (Xena's Draco / Star Wars II and III) appeared as a guest on Rove Live on Tuesday 9th August. He was there on the segment "My Charader" to do some charades.

21st September 2005 - Lucy to Appear in 2 MORE Episodes!!

-Lucy has posted a note on her brand new Official Lucy Lawless Fan Club Site, that she will be returning to the set of Battlestar to film 2 MORE Episodes!

"I'll be filming two more episodes of Battlestar Galactica.  Don't know yet when they're going to air.  Thought you'd like to be the first to know. -- Lucy"

-This here is my theory on her return and this is just a fan guess. As Battlestar season two only contains 20 episodes, the episodes in which Lucy might be filming could be for the finale??

12th September 2005 - No Plans For Season Two Battlestar Screening For OZ
-This weeks new Australian TV Week Magazine has printed the email that I sent in to the Letters "Just Ask" section (YAY I got printed)! But bad news for Australian Battlestar and Lucy fans as this was the response:

Q: Do you know if Ten will be picking up the rights to the second season of the amazing (but sadly poorly rated) Battlestar Galactica? I read that Lucy Lawless will be making a guest appearance in an episode of the next season - I hope we actually get to see it!

A: Brace yourself, Bradley, because Ten reports that it has no plans to show the next season of Battlestar Galactica at this stage. It looks like you'll have to read all about the warrior princess's exciting guest appearance on the Internet.

12th July 2005 - Lucy on the set Photo of Battlestar
AUSXIP have posted a scanned photo of Lucy Lawless on the set of Battlestar Galactica. This photo is printed in the current addition of the American magazine, Entertainment Weekly . Tag reads "Lucy Lawless is prepped for a Galactica guest spot".

8th July 2005 - Galactica Snags Xena - TV Guide Article
"Coming soon on Sci-fi Channel's Battlestar Galactica: Lucy Lawless, TV news princess. According to executive producer David Eick, the erstwhile Warrior Princess will guest-star as 'a fearless Christiane Amanpour-type reporter' during the show's upcoming second season. "She's conducting an investigation into the wrongful deaths of civilians at the hands of a Galactica marine." And, let's hope, kicking some Cylon butt! - Additional reporting by Bruce Fretts and lleane Rudolph.

1st July 2005 - Wrong Episode Titles

From Sharon at the Creation Fan site, she has spoken to Lucy and confirmed that the previous episode titles are all incorrect. Lucy's episode is supposedly number #8 (un-titled at this point). And that Lucy's appearance is only the 1 episode.

29th June 2005 - Lucy On Set

At the Monkey Cabal blog website they have posted some comments on the recent Battlestar Galactica Convention hosted by Creation. The blog talks about Lucy on the set:

"There's a new blonde on the set, and it's Lucy Lawless. She plays an investigative reporter doing a documentary on the military, in an effort to try and clean up the military's public image, which is not particularly great as the season opens."

"There was a cast bet on who would call LL "Xena" first. It was Katee (Starbuck). In a scene where Kara is punching a heavy bag, Katee manages to knock the bag off its hook to the floor. She decides that's a very impressive feat and pumps her arms in the air in victory. Then she tells Lucy, "you think you're so tough, Xena?" Lucy then proceeds to ride the fallen punching bag like a bronco."

Plus a source on Gateway Forum who attended the convention posted a bit more on what was said about Lucy's appearance: "She is a reporter that is doing a story on the military after some civials are accidentally killed by colonial warriors and people are upset with the military. She also said things really heat up when she is working on the story." And they also confirmed that Lucy has Blonde hair.

And just a note that at the con, Tricia (Number 6) said that Lucy is currently only in one episode but hinted that she may be back for more!

25th June 2005 - Lucy Guests in Three Episodes??

According to the IMDB website, Lucy is credited to appear in 3 episodes of Battlestar's Season Two. These are the following episode titles: The Farm, Home Part 1, and Home Part 2. These have not been confirmed.

20th June 2005 - Lucy Lawless to Guest Star on Battlestar Galactica Season Two!
From TV guide Online's "Ask Aurelio", a question was asked about the new season of Battlestar Galactica, which is currently in production.
Here is what was said:

Question: Got any intel on the next season of Battlestar Galactica?

Answer: Lucy Lawless is gonna do a few episodes playing a Christiane Amanpour-type character. And I hear Sci Fi censors are freaking out about a really disturbing (yet visually stunning) scene in Episode 5. An upcoming issue of TV Guide magazine will have more on that little controversy.

MORE
news today on Lucy's character. The Co-producer for Battlestar has commented: "She's going to do a Documentary on the day to day operations of a Battlestar, and this causes a lot of controversy." Creation has also commented that Lucy's appearance is only a 1 episode guest.

AND MORE news on her character. "Lucy has signed to do one episode that could come back. The character she plays is a reporter, D'anna Biers. D'anna threatens to expose the goings-on  on the ship. Her presence ratchets up tensions between the crew members."

So watch this space for further news on Lucy's Battlestar Galactica appearance. This sci-fi show was amazing! IMO. One of my favourite new shows for 2005. Australia has seen the mini series and first season sofar this year. Season two of Battlestar has just started production in America and is set to air later this year in America and the UK. No news on whether Channel Ten (Australia) has picked up Season Two as ratings weren't too good for the first season. They shipped Battlestar to a 10:30pm timeslot and cut all promotional ads.

19th June 2005 - Lucy to be a CYLON??!
Now according to www.GalacticaStation.com - "Lucy Lawless (of Xena: Warrior Princess fame will play a CNN-style reporter named Anna. She will be one of two new Cylon models introduced this season. Contrary to reports already posted, Lucy has been approached to play the recurring role, BUT she has not accepted as yet. The new series fans are hopeful that she will so that their favourite super-heroine will be able to kick some "Colonial butt" aboard the Galactica this year."

Season Two of Battlestar begins airing in July in America. If you live in Australia and missed the Mini Series and First Season screening on Channel Ten this year, and wish to catch up on this series before Lucy's appearance you can buy the Mini Series and Pre-order Season One now from EzyDVD.com.au!

16th June 2005 - And More Battlestar Lucy News.
AND MORE news on her character. "Lucy has signed to do one episode that could come back. (Are we talking evil Cylon!!) The character she plays is a reporter, D'anna Biers. D'anna threatens to expose the goings-on  on the ship. Her presence ratchets up tensions between the crew members."

13th June 2005 - More on Lucy's Battlestar appearance.
MORE news today on Lucy's character. The Co-producer for Battlestar has commented: "She's going to do a Documentary on the day to day operations of a Battlestar, and this causes a lot of controversy." Creation has also commented that Lucy's appearance is only a 1 episode guest.

Here is what was said:

An interesting article I found: "A Simpsons comic has Homer coming home drunk and waking to find he's become the New Zealand PM - surrounded by Kiwis, sheep and a framed picture of Xena star Lucy Lawless." Too bad that this is only in a comic. Would make a great episode! And maybe another guest voicing role for Lucy on the show. hehe
