August 26th - Day 2 - Ft Langley, BC

Queen of Peace (Dominican) Monastery

This fence surrounded a sewing shop in Ft. Langley

A "wisdom lesson" from last night: when parked on a slight incline in a camper, arrange it so gravity pulls you INTO bed, rather than OUT of it!

One of the first people I met this morning was Ken, a flute player who taught me a little about Hopi flutes, which he makes and plays beautifully. Of course, Jessie met lots of people and dogs, and collected a few biscuits along the way!

Jessie made some new friends at Queen of Peace Monastery, and fit right into Dominican life....altho she had her eye on a few cats and sheep! After an absence of 30 plus years, I was gifted with a visit to a Dominican monastery this afternoon. I couldn't have met a kinder, more welcoming, and warmer group of people. Sr Jean Marie introduced me to the other Sisters - and the llama and sheep. Ending in the choir for Vespers I felt right at home; and once again, it felt like the "time". I'm not sure yet what "time" that is; there is much to digest. Meanwhile, the plaque of St. Dominic Sr. Mary Magdalen made, and gave to me, rides with me in the van.
