"The Wings of Normandy"
4 October 2001
All of Bravo Company here at Comanche Base would like to express our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to all of those that have lost friends and loved ones in 11 SEP attacks on the United States. Our prayers go out to you in this tragic loss. Our prayers are also with those families across the U.S. that have had to send their military members on unexpected deployments as an answer to the call for our forces to be ready for whatever may happen.
For our families and friends back home, rest assured that we are safe and protecting ourselves, and, most importantly, we are trained and ready to continue our mission. You can be proud of your soldiers and their professionalism.
Things are progressing nicely for B Co. We have recently said goodbye to our predecessors from FT Bragg. We wish CPT Craig Alia and all of his ‘Redhawks’ a speedy trip home to your loved ones. Know that your legacy will remain strong here and you have our deep appreciation for all of your assistance with our smooth transition into mission posture. We especially admire your "artistic" abilities. The ‘Beasts’ look forward to working with you again.
With the arrival of our Main Body, B Co is once again whole and back to normal. Now that CW3 Phil "Where’s the camera?" Brashear is here with us; we fully expect all of the major networks to be sending crews over to produce special segments on us. It will also be easier to update these pages now that CW4 Jim "Mega Byte" McGuffey is here to select photos (and to prod me to write more timely newsletters). We will be adding a new page to honor the important women of B Co (our wives, mothers, girlfriends, etc), so I encourage you to mail your soldier the picture that YOU like the most so that we can include it on the page.
Although we don’t have a photo to post to the web site, I was privileged to pin CW3 rank on Donnie "Superball in a box" Rice, as well as the Senior Aviator Badge on CW2 Marvin "Can I go back to Richmond for the race?" McKenney. Congratulations to both of them for their well deserved recognition! Also, a belated public congratulations to SPC Buzz "What do you mean I don’t get Hazardous Duty Pay here at the AASF!?!" Hagen for earning the Senior Aircrewman Badge. We still have a spot for you and we need you here Buzz.
Very special congratulations to John & Carole Anderson on the birth of their 5lb 4oz son, William Herbert on 19 AUG and to Bubba & Kelly McKenney on the birth of their 7 lb 12 oz girl, Tylar Nichole on 2 OCT. We are anxiously awaiting news from Jesse & Chelsey Ramirez.
Our love goes out to all of our family and friends. We think of you daily. We could not be successful here without your support. We hope to see your messages in the guest book.
God bless America!
Sincerely, NEAL J. EDMONDS CPT, Aviation Commanding
