Orion gained the final leg on his herding tested title in October at the Triangle Herding Club of North Carolina's trial. Due to his age and his desire to be a couch dog, Orion is being retired from herding after gaining his HT. In March 2003, Orion got his CD in three straight trials and qualified for a CCA Versatility Award.

Orion passed away in April 2006.
