Due to the increased volume of names being added to the WILTON FAMILY HISTORY PROJECT database, maintaining this section of the website accurately has become a problem. We have decided to delete it, rather than mislead you into thinking that was all we had available. We can provide a better service to genuine researchers, if you follow the direction suggestions below.

Land Tax for MONTACUTE Parish in the division of Yeovil

Ref: 16mm roll film from LDS (number not known).

“This shows land tax assessors for the years covered in the document. The document itself has for each year a list of proprietors and occupiers and amount of rent paid. Only in the later documents is the name of the property given and that is often just “lands”. It is rather difficult to read as the lands are often subdivided and the order is not always the same.”

1832 Thomas Hallett was assessor with Thomas Isaac. Both were collectors.
