asic Ritual Outline

Preparation
     Decision-making, who is responsible for what, assembling of tools, making lists, making a plan; in group events, assigning chores and responsibilities.

Set-Up
     Physical preparation of the area, altar preparation, stacking firewood, vacuuming or dusting, etc. 

Last Minute Details
     Do people who
need seats have them?  Is the charcoal lit?

Welcome or Introduction
     Is everyone acquainted?  Have visiting clergy been formally introduced?  Keep it vague among strangers; some are still in the closet.

Attunement
     Chant, sing, breathe: align group energy in some fashion

Consecration of 4 Elements
     Blessing of Air, Fire, Water, Earth; or incense, candle/charcoal, water, salt.

Consecration of Circle
     Asperging (splashing with holy water) and censing (smudging with incense).

Calling the Quarters

Casting the Circle - erect an energy barrier.

Charge of the Season
     A chance to get poetic while aligning everyone with the reason why we're here and doing this.

Invocation of Deity/ies

Meditation or Preparation for Magick

Raising of Power - through dance, chant, breath, etc.

Working
     Magic, worship, healing work, etc.

Cakes & Ale
     Or offerings to the Gods.

Release of Deity (with thanks)

Release of the Quarters (with thanks)

Open the Circle - remove energy barrier.

Farewells to the Gathering
    Merry meet, to merry part, to meery meet again.

Feast (sometimes)

~*~*~ Arrange some or all of these things in their logical order for your ritual.  Let these lists be an inspiration and a convenience, for they are not graven in stone.  Use them to your advantage, as a reminder, as a starting point, and let the ritual begin! ~*~*~
