AMA Updates

  January 20-22, 2001

Finally, kicked myself in the butt enough to get Alex Amar's review of the Gundam X Bandai HG 1/100 Gundam Virsago converted to html and uploaded to the server! Finally!

On the WebGallery pages: Added an entry for the modeling work of Tom Grossman, five pics of some of his models including 2 Crusher Joe kits, a Ideon kit, and the new Armorcast 1/60 Vulture Omnimech kit. Also, I've divided the WebGallery into 3 pages with 8 modelers' entries on each.

On the Model Gallery page: Added two new entries; Steve Obedoza sent in two pics and David Leong sent in 8 pictures of models him and his friend Norman built.

On the Mecha A & D page: Added a new section for the artwork of Temjin Q.C.; six pictures, very nice work! and added two new pics to Niklas Jansson's section as well.

Fixed a few broken links and broken image links, added a pic of House of Anime to the Anime Model Shops page.

  December 16, 2000

Added three pictures of Norman Narvaja's GM Quel model to his review of the Mastergrade kit.

Posted three new items to the Trading Post, one in the "Gundam" section and two in the "Other Anime kits" section.

Did some general "behind the scenes" editing and maintaince.

  December 12, 2000

Added a great tidbit to the News page.

Fernando sent in thirteen pictures of his very detailed model of the Destroid Monster. Very nice! Check them out. The page loads a little slow, but it is worth it!

  December 05, 2000

Added two blurbs to the News page.

Started a new job this week, and will be saving for a decent digital camera right off the bat, but it'll take at least three weeks of pay, I just had to have nearly six hundred dollars of work done to my little Subaru Turbo-Wagon. Thank goodness I could borrow the money, but it will be a pretty high priority to pay back, so the camera will take a little longer.

  December 01, 2000

Completely overhauled the Online & Offline Shops page.

  November 30, 2000

Got the two pages of Mecha Hobby News loading to the server, FINALLY!

Fix all the broken image links on the second page of the Web Gallery.

  November 21-22, 2000

Took care of the backlog for the Trading Post. Twenty-four new ads and fixed some broken email links and updated some email addresses.

Posted three pictures sent in by Vincent Hui to the Model Gallery, two of his F91 Gundam model and one of his Griffon Labor. Also replaced the picture in C.B.'s WebGallery entry of his EX-S Gundam model with a much better picture of it, he sent in awhile back.

Added 5 color pictures to James E. Doyle's review of the Mobile Turn-X, which I pilfered off the Gundam Perfect Web.

Put up the first submission to the Mecha Art & Design page! Sent in by Peter Levius! Thank you Good Sir! Peter's rusted mech is a nice piece of work.

Have posted 5 new images from Fernando Faria to the Model Gallery. Four more pictures of his Dreissen, man I love that mobile suit! And 1 picture of his Jagd-Doga. Very nice work on these, be sure to check them out!

Just uploaded James E. Doyle's review of the HGUC Gouf to the server.

Added Jarrod Trout's review of the Flying Trooper Impulse 7 and John Hwang's cautionary review of the "Ben Di" Gundam Wing Deathscythe bootleg to the plastic kit reviews.

Added Howard Lee's review of the HG HeavyArms Custom; Jim Milligan's review of the HG G-Falcon unit Double X and Peter Savin's review of the MG Sazabi to the plastic kit reviews.

Woo Hoo! Added six reviews by James E. Doyle: HGUC Qubeley; the Mobile Turn-X; FG Char's Zaku II; and especially the HGUC Rick-Dias! And then two of his 1/100th reviews: Turn-A and MG Rick-Dom.

And lastly added Norman Narvaja's review of the MG GM Quel; Patrick Moore's review of the MG Sazabi; and Stan Baryla's review of Polar Lights new Speedracer Mach 5 snapkit.

16 reviews in two months! The reviews page is really starting to take off. Just wish someone might think of doing reviews of more non-gundam mecha kits (oh, I don't know... Macross; Patlabor; Cyber Formula; Evangelion; Votoms... ).

  August 13, 2000

Reloaded most of the website back onto the server.

Updated the Nausicaa Gunship review with links to other gunship models on the internet.

Tonight after I get back from work, I'll be adding some very nice pictures that Fernando Faria sent in. Will also be adding some kit reviews sent in by Steve Lee. Then start the Model News page, and overhauling of the Trading Post page.

I want to apologise for the long lack of updates and then the disappearance of the site.

You might notice that the all the images on the Links pages (i.e., online shops; mecha modeling pages; mecha reference links) are showing as broken. Please bear with me, I'm in the middle of overhauling those pages and it makes it easier to just delete all those jpegs off the server.

Added 6 pictures of John Yeh's Serpent Custom to his section of the Gallery

Moved David Roche's entry from the webgallery over to the regular Gallery, to better handle the fourteen pics he sent me to put up! Woo hoo!

Added five pictures of John Yeh's 1/144 HGUC Zaku III Kai model to the Gallery, and a fifth pic of his Wing Zero.

Changed the Trixie Turnpike clickable icon, to the "DragonBall Trixie" version to get Halloweenly festive. Since I'm a very big fan of Miyazaki I'll being changing it to the "San Trixie" version soon, I would imagine.

Well, the Discussion Forum is working again, before I even got a chance to email vantagenet about it!

  October 10, 1999

  October 8, 1999

(((NOTE: Ryan Bolichowski, please send me another email. I tried to reply to your email address: reb@copusmart.ab.ca today but the message got bounced back.)))

I sort of fell off the surface of the earth there for awhile. Sorry about the extremely long wait for an update. My computer is now the only functioning computer in my home, so I have to share it, which has slowed things down a lot. On top of that I'm going through the slow, very slow process of learning Javascript and Cascading Style Sheets & Dynamic HTML, heck I'm still trying to learn regular HTML. And am in the middle of doing the HTML for the "Reviews" section. And trying to get some modeling done to boot.

Sometime between May 28 and now I added 8 pics to Fernando Faria's section on the Special Showcase page. And also added a showcase entry for Steve Lee, 3 pics of his 1/24 SF3D Krote.

Today added a 3 picture entry to the Special Showcase for Luciano Peccerini, from Brazil (You've got to see the pics of his scratchbuilt "Sol Bianca" starship model; and an entry for John Yeh of his Hardygun II model.

Added the Special Showcase page. And added four new members to the Member Roster. We're up to 79 members! Woo Hoo!

There were some serious lag problems on the Geocities server today. Unbeknownst to me they were doing a major "system-wide" update. So, blissfully ignorant, I log on and try to upload 24 jpegs and 4 html files, something which normally takes less than a 2 to 5 minutes. It took 4 hours to upload the html files and 11 jpegs! And after many errors and retries! ARGH! I thought there was something wrong with my modem.

I sounded like Yosemite Sam as I ran around the house, ending up in the spare bedroom where I took a broom handle to the bed matress!, until I started laughing at myself realizing I looked absurd: like someone flogging wheat with a flail or a chimpanzee whamping the ground with a stick! Haven't been that mad in years. Finally got the rest of the jpegs uploaded after I got home this morning.

  Mar 24, 1999

  Feb 20, 1999

Added the Mecha Reference Links page, and the What does it take to be an Addict? page. Generally tinkered with most of the pages of the website.

  Early-January, 1999

Emailed Mark Foster, the club founder and the owner of the original Anime Model Addicts Anonymous website (which he started in August of '97, btw), to ask if it would be okay if I were to open up a new AMAA website, I mean since he shut it down and there were already 60 or so members at that time. He gave his blessing, and this whole kit and kaboodle got started.
