“Larry, I think what I needed to realize, and finally have, is through all of this, we’re really still the same people. I know, we have been changed by what all has taken place, but not down deep, where it really matters. You’re still the man I fell in love with. You are a part of me and even with all the craziness going on, nothing else matters, except the fact that we love each other.” “So does this mean . . .” Larry began to ask, in a hopeful tone. And that was the final barrier between them. Ally couldn’t help herself; she threw her arms around Larry’s neck and broke into tears. Larry hugged her to him, gently stroking her hair. No words were needed. He let her cry for a moment and then, cupping her cheeks in his hands, he softly, warmly, kissed her. It was a tender kiss, a kiss meant to comfort her, meant to let her know everything was going to be ok. But, it quickly turned into something else entirely. A hunger, a need, an insistence for more. They couldn’t seem to get enough of each other. Suddenly, though, Larry pulled back. His breathing was ragged. Ally was stunned from the shock of his warm lips suddenly not being there. She looked up at him questioningly. “Larry . . . what . . .?” He gently pressed his fingers to her lips, “Shh . . . it’s ok. It’s just . . . it seems . . . it seems like I’ve been wanting this for such a long time, I just don’t want to rush into it. I want to savor every moment of this with you. I want to take it slow, make it last, and I think we were headed to a quick explosion, the way things were going just now,” he said with a smile. “Come on,” and he stood up, holding her hands and pulling her up with him. He led the way to the bedroom.
