“So, where we going? Your place or mine?” Robert asked, with a smirk, as he and Calista walked out to his car. “Sex! Is that ALL you ever think about?” Calista teased, reaching out and capturing his hand in hers. “I’m actually kind of hungry, seeing how I missed breakfast this morning when someone wouldn’t let me get out of bed!” she laughed. “I was hoping you’d take me somewhere to eat before you start ravishing me again!” She was feeling so light-hearted, she was practically skipping across the parking lot. “Guess I’d better see that you get some food then; you’re going to need your energy later on . . .” Robert said, implicating that he had definite plans for them both. They went to a little café not far from the studio and thankfully, had an uninterrupted lunch. As they were finishing and Robert was paying the bill, Calista “suddenly” remembered that she’d left her purse in her dressing room back at the studio. Robert, not suspecting anything, told her it’d be no problem to swing by, on their way to “his place.” Calista just laughed. Once they reached the studio, Robert suggested that he just wait in the car while she ran in and thought it was really odd that Calista insisted he come with her. “I guess I just don’t want to let you out of my sight,” she said. “No problem there,” he said. As they walked into the studio, hand in hand, they were suddenly met with a crowd of people - all the cast, crew, production team - everyone involved with the show seemed to be there. The place was decked out for a party. Robert gave Calista a look that showed he knew she’d been in on this, but she simply shrugged and smiled back at him. “It was David and Michelle’s idea; I just agreed to help out,” she whispered to him, before he was swept away by different people, wanting to tell him how happy they were to have him back, asking him how it felt to be acting again. It wasn’t long before the party was in full swing; Jane got up on stage and started singing. People started dancing and various cast members were taking their turn at the microphone. Calista and Robert had only been able to have one dance together. Robert kept getting grabbed and pulled out on the dance floor by other cast members - Michelle, Portia, Lucy, Jane, Julianne, Regina. Calista watched the man she loved, charming every one he talked with. He had a way of making the person he was talking with feel like they were the most important person in the room. But it was more than charm. He was such a kind person, going out of his way to thank the camera crew, guys on the production team, even the girl who was always running errands for the cast. Watching him, Calista realized that not only did she love him more than she’d ever thought possible, she wanted everyone else to know it! She was tired of hiding her personal life, particularly from this group of people who were as close to her as any family. So, while Robert was dancing with Regina, Calista made her way over to the microphone. She whispered her song to the piano player and began to sing, staring directly down at Robert on the dance floor.
You’ve got a way it seems
You’ve got a way with words
Oh, how I adore you
It’s just the way you are.
