“What’s up, do you think?” Calista whispered to Robert as he walked with her toward David’s office.

“I’m not sure. Do you want me to go talk to him with you?” he asked.

“No, that’s ok. You’d better go look over that final scene. Lord knows you can use the time to get ready!” she said with a smile. She gave him a quick kiss and then went on into David’s office, closing the door behind her.

Soon after, David came into the office, closing the door behind him. He walked over and sat down at his desk, across from Calista.

“So . . . things going ok?” he asked with a smile.

“Well, as a matter of fact, they are,” she replied, smiling, “but I think you already knew that and I don’t think that’s why you asked me in here.”

“Well, it’s hard not to notice -- you are positively glowing, Calista! But you’re right. That’s not why I needed to talk to you. But I do want to tell you that I’m really happy that things seem to working out for you two. Robert’s a terrific guy and if there’s anyone that can help pull him through, it’s you. Stick with him and you two are going to do just great.”

“Thanks David, I really appreciate that. Ok, why’d you want to talk with me?” she asked.

“Well, I need your help with a project when we’re done filming today,” he said.

Calista’s face fell. She tried not to show her disappointment, but all that she’d been thinking about since they’d shown up at the studio was being alone again with Robert. But she surely owed David tremendously, after all he’d done for both her and Robert. So she put on a bright smile and asked, “What can I do?”

David had noticed her first reaction and smiled back at her. “Don’t worry, Robert’s going to be there too. In fact, it’s because of Robert that I need your help.” Noticing her puzzled look, he continued, “Michelle had the great idea to throw a welcome-back party for Robert, after we wrapped this episode. It was supposed to have been last night, but with the script changes and all, we had to postpone it. As soon as we finish filming the last scene, I need you to get Robert to take you to lunch. Then you’ve got to figure some way to get him back here to the studio. We’ll need at least an hour, to get things ready. You think you can keep him away for that long?”

“Sure, I’d be glad to. You know, it really means a lot to him the way you guys have welcomed him back. I think it’s gone a long way to giving him the confidence that he needs to finally beat his problem once and for all.”

“Well, as I said earlier, he’s a great guy. And he does have all of us rooting for him. I think we would be remiss in not acknowledging to him just how much he means to all of us and what a tremendous boost he was to the show last year. So, let’s get this final scene filmed and then we can get on to the party,” David said.
