Background Info
Roswell was originally a book series written by Melinda Metz. To date there are ten books, written in a continuing episode style. It was thought to adapt the books into a series and so Roswell High (whose name later changed to Roswell) was born. The series centres around three aliens, Max, Michael and Isabel, who arrived in the Roswell 1947 crash. They are being hunted by the FBI, trying to find their way home and also attempting to lead regular lives at West Roswell High School. Max, the leader, saves Liz when she is shot, and so some humans know of their identities. The group of humans are Liz, Maria, Alex, Kyle and Sheriff Valenti. Tess, another alien, arrived later. All the aliens have powers that can be useful when escaping from FBI agents. And so the aliens are in Roswell, just trying to fit in.

Family in Roswell
Liz lives with her parents above the Crashdown cafe, which they own. She also works there and she is an only child.
Maria lives with her mother, Amy De Luca and cousin Sean, who has just been released from jail. Maria also works at the Crashdown.
Alex lives with his parents.
Max and Isabel are brother and sister and were adopted at a young age. They live with their parents. Max works at the UFO centre.
Michael did live with Hank, but when he became abusive Michael left and now lives on his own.
Kyle lives with his father, Sheriff Valenti and also with Tess.
Tess moved in with the Valenti’s after Nasado was killed by the Skins.

What Max Says
"Well, I guess the natural place to start is...that I'm an alien...a hybrid, actually. You know, human DNA mixed with alien DNA...that kind of thing. Oh, I almost forgot. My sister Isabel and our friend Michael are also a little green around the gills. We didn't know where we came from, who sent us, or why. For the past 10 years, we've been aging much like humans, but clearly there are differences. From the beginning we had the instinct to keep this to ourselves, to hide in plain sight. Then one day last fall, everything changed. The 6 of us were connected by the secret we shared. There was also Tess, a hybrid like us...part human, part alien. And then there was Nasedo. He's a shapeshifter...which means he can take on any human form, a skill that could really come in handy since there were people out there who would do anything to find us. And if they found us, there was no limit to what they would do. Fortunately, we used Nasedo's abilities to infiltrate the special unit of the FBI. Of course we had skills of our own. And as much as we tried to convince ourselves that we could live a normal life...We couldn't. To save our lives, Michael killed Agent Pierce of the FBI. And no matter how justified it was, the truth is...we killed a man...and that wasn't easy...for any of us"
