When Love and Hate Collide

Lissa: Well, here we are!

Melissa and Lissa walked into the cabin and looked around. Lissa had booked the two of them in this cabin for two weeks hoping that it might make Melissa forget about her break–up with her boyfriend. Melissa and JC had been dating for two years when he decided he did not want to see Melissa anymore. That was one week ago and since then Melissa had been sitting on the couch all day in her pajamas. Lissa finally got sick of seeing her sit there everyday and dragged Melissa out of the house.

Lissa: So, what do you think of it?

Melissa: It’s nice.

Lissa: I think that it is great. Look at the beautiful furniture in this place.

Lissa looked over at Melissa and knew that all she wanted to do was go into the bedroom, put on her pajamas and sulk.

Lissa: Well, the bedrooms are down that hallway. There are four of them so you can choose whichever one you want. I am going to go into the kitchen and cook something for dinner for the two of us.

Melissa: Okay. Thank you.

Lissa watched Melissa walk down the hall and walk into one of the bedrooms. As Lissa walked into the kitchen, she thought about a way to make Melissa feel better. She did not care how long it took; she was going to make her forget about that jerk JC.

************************************************************

Melissa was lying on her bed. She had been sitting in her room ever since she and Lissa had arrived. She could not stop thinking about JC. She wanted to know what she had done wrong. She continued to think about this and then thought that maybe Lissa was right. Maybe she should stop being so depressed. If she ever got the chance, JC would not take her back if he knew she was sitting in her pajamas all day. Just then she heard a loud noise coming from down the hall.

Melissa: What was that?

Melissa got out of her bed and went to the door. She opened it slowly and went out into the hall. She looked down the hall and saw Lissa tiptoeing out of her room at the same time as she was. Melissa walked down the hall slowly towards Lissa and grabbed her. Lissa jumped.

Lissa: You scared me. Do not ever do that again.

All Melissa could do was laugh at the look on her friend’s face.

Lissa: You just wait. I am going to get you back for that.

They heard the loud noise again.

Lissa: What was that?

Melissa: I do not know but let’s go find out.

The two of them walk into the living room and Melissa turns on the lights. They see guys standing with bags in their hands.

Melissa: Who are you?

Lissa: And what are you doing in our cabin?

Guy #1: We were just about to ask you the same thing.

Melissa: What do you mean? My friend booked us this cabin a week ago.

Guy #1: Well we booked it two weeks ago.

Melissa: Well, we got here first.

Guy #1: Well…

Guy # 2: Will the two of you stop fighting? The owner probably just double booked this cabin.

Lissa: Yeah, you are probably right. Well since it is pretty late, why don’t the two of you take the two extra bedrooms and we can call the owner tomorrow so we can figure this out. The two of you are not serial killers are you?

Guy # 2: No but if you want you can lock your bedroom doors. Just to be on the safe side.

Lissa: Okay. Well we will see you in the morning.

Lissa turns towards Melissa and sees that she and the other guy are staring intensely at each other. She pulls her towards their bedrooms.

Lissa: Come on! Good night.

Guy #1 and Guy #2: Good night.

They all go into their bedrooms and go to bed.

*************************************************************

Guy # 2: Good morning.

Lissa: Oh. Good morning. Did you sleep well?

Guy # 2: Yes I did, thank you. And by the way, my name is Nick and my friend’s name is Howie.

Lissa: Well my name is Melissa but you can call me Lissa and my friend’s name is Melissa as well.

Nick: You have the same name. Must be confusing.

Lissa: That is why you can call me Lissa.

Nick: Oh, I see. Anyway, I guess that since it is morning, we should call the owner.

Lissa: I already did. He said that there is nothing that he can do until next week. He said that all of the other cabins are full, so I guess that the two of you will have to stay here with us.

Nick: Do you might if we do that?

Lissa: No, I do not mind. I can always lock my door every night, just to be on the safe side.

Nick: I hope not every night.

Lissa turned away from Nick because she was blushing.

Lissa: So, why did you and Howie decide to come up here to these beautiful cabins?

Nick: We wanted to get away. You see, we are always working and it gets very hard. So, we decided to escape for a few weeks and hide from everyone. Our friend AJ told me about this place so we came here.

Lissa: Oh. I am glad that your friend AJ told you about this place. Remind me to thank him if I ever meet him.

Nick: So what brought the two of you up here?

Lissa: Well, Melissa just broke up with her jerk of a boyfriend and she was walking around the house being totally depressed, so I dragged her sorry butt up here. She is still acting completely depressed except for last night when she was fighting with Howie.

Nick: You are right. The two of them were almost at each other’s throats last night. But then after that, they were drooling all over each other. Hey, maybe we should set the two of them up.

Lissa: That is an excellent idea. We will have to do something evil to them to get Melissa back for what she did to me last night.

Nick: What did she do?

Lissa: Oh nothing. I have an idea. Come closer so I can tell you.

Nick: With pleasure.

Nick moves in closer to Lissa and she begins to tell him her plan.

*************************************************************

Later that day, Lissa, Nick and Howie were sitting in the kitchen. Nick and Howie were sitting at the kitchen table playing cards, while Lissa was walking around the kitchen gathering food for her pain in the butt friend who was still in her room.

Lissa: Howie, can you do me a favor?

Howie: Sure. What can I do for you?

Lissa: Can you take this tray of food to Melissa since she won’t come out of her room?

Howie: I guess I can do that for you.

Howie goes over to Lissa and takes the tray from her. He wanted to see Melissa again but he was not going to tell them that. Last time he told Nick who he liked he was being bugged by him 24/7. Howie left the kitchen and starts to go towards Melissa’s room.

Nick: So do you think that this plan is going to work?

Lissa: It better work because the two of them belong together.

Nick: What about us?

Lissa: We have the whole day to find that out.

Nick: And what are we going to do?

Lissa: I am sure that we can think of something to do just like they are going to have to.

Nick: Well since the cards are already out, how about we play some strip poker?

Lissa: Maybe later. First, let’s deal with Howie and Melissa. Come on, Let’s go!
