I WAS AN EXCHANGE STUDENT IN DECEMBER OF 1990. I WENT TO GERMANY FOR MY INTERCULTURAL EXPERIENCE. I ENJOYED MY STAY THERE FOR THREE MONTHS, AND REALLY, REALLY, LOVED MY HOST FAMILY. I WAS SAD TO LEAVE THEM, BECAUSE I HAD GROWN TO LOVE THEM. I MADE FRIENDS, WHO UP TO NOW, I AM STILL KEEPING IN TOUCH WITH THEM. THEY ARE FRIENDS THAT WILL LAST A LIFETIME, JUST LIKE THE EXPERIENCE, WILL AND HAS LEFT A MARK IN MY LIFE. NOW THAT I HAVE 2 DAUGHTERS, AND I WILL BE SURE TO SUPPORT THEM IF THEY DECIDE TO GO ON AN EXCHANGE PROGRAM LIKE THE ONE I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO PARTICIPATE IN. THANK YOU VERY MUCH AFS, YOU HAVE GIVEN ME AN EXPERIENCE TO REMEMBER.
