Review of "A Flower in the Night" By Rinoa Valentine

This beautifully written short story concerns two of the game's love bunnies, Vincent and Lucrecia. The basic plot is that Vincent returns to the Cave to find Lucrecia where they talk for a bit and then make beautiful love in the cave (Bit uncomfortable if you ask me!).
Probably this fic's greatest virtue is the fact that there are no strings attached; there is no hard-line plot and it doesn't take a genius to understand. The story doesn't exist in any particular time although we suspect it's after meteor strikes.
Overall a well written story that won't take ages to read (and it's about my favourite character!), I suggest you read it for the simple fact that it will take you about two minutes to read.

Story/Basic Theme: Quite simple although not devoid of feeling or meaning. Not an epic, but not really meant to be; the only downside is that it ends rather quickly and not much is achieved at the end.
I give it 15/30

Quality of Writing: Rinoa creates a good atmosphere with the two characters and the story is written realistically, I could see it happening. Although it's not the best I've read, it's up there at near the top.
I give it 24/30

Universe:  The two characters in this fic are written very closely to how the characters in the game are, this is one of the best interpretations of Vincent I have seen, many people have trouble writing for him (including myself) but Rinoa pulls off his character very well.
I give it 23/30

Overall Enjoyment: I do enjoy the story a lot, Vincent is my favourite character and I love to read stories about him, but the story doesn't really get me gripped or excited as much as a longer and perhaps more eventful fic would. Don't get me wrong, I like the story but it doesn't match up to a longer one.
I give it 23/30

Total Score: The scores added together make:
86/120
