Wonderful Caregiver

Early yesterday morning Christopher woke up with terrible pains in one ankle. He must have twisted it playing and then slept on it funny. Nicole heard him crying in the hall and came out of her room. I took Christopher into my room (Tina and I were already up) and laid him down on my bed. While I went off to find children's Tylenol, Nicole ran off. I heard noises in the kitchen and when we met back at the bed, Nicole had a cold pack to put on his ankle. She then went and got a Buzz Lightyear toy and her "lovey bear" to give to Christopher for comfort. I was pleased to see her so sweet, concerned and caring.
Sock Hop

Nicole attended a Girl Scout sock hop on Saturday. She seemed to have a great time. The school was packed with girls. The most exciting part was Nicole got a metal for being in the top ten of the 1950's costume contest. Even though she didn't win, this was quite good. Nicole said there were 40 girls participating and she was the only one to make the top ten from her troop.
More Spanish

Last night I was listening to Nicole read her school books. She read a book in Spanish about flowers and then told me that she had to describe the book to the class in Spanish. So I helped her (not that I could do much) to word what she was going to say to the class. She had it pretty much figured out, but I helped look up a word in the Spanish dictionary for her.
Playing With Christopher

Nicole an Christopher have been playing so nicely together lately. It seems they are becoming best friends along with being siblings. Christopher loves Buzz Lightyear and Tarzan. Amazingly, Nicole has really enjoyed playing with him in those themes. Christopher will be Buzz and Nicole Mira. Or Christopher will be Tarzan and Nicole Jane. Yesterday Christopher bought a new Lego Bionicle toy and Nicole even had fun playing that with him. Christopher is Toa of Fire and Nicole plays Toa of Water. It's wonderful seeing them play so well.
Translating Spanish

Nicole is learning Spanish and has already been able to use it some in the real world. The other day Tina was helping out at the PTA book fair. A lady came up to the table with a couple of books and asked something in Spanish. Nicole was there and she translated to Tina and they were able to help the lady. Nicole is a bit shy to speak Spanish, which is understandable, but she's starting to understand. It's fun to see her learn.
Sleeping Nicole is sleeping in Christopher's room again. They both seem to like being together. In fact, Christopher is now crawling up in the top bunk with Nicole. Sometimes they have problems when they bump each other too much, but overall they seem to enjoy the arrangement.
