Silent Night
Posted Friday,February 22,2002, 08:45:31 AM by Doug Davis
A part of our bedtime tradition is to sing a song. For Nicole we usually sing "Rock-a-Bye Baby". She's liked it since she was an infant. We let Christopher choose what song he wants to sing. For a long time he liked "I Love You" from the "Barney" TV show. But ever since Christmas he has wanted to sing "Silent Night". And so we do. I don't exactly know why, but he loves that song.
Reading His First Book

Christopher is really getting into books. His favorite book series is the "Froggy" books by London. He also likes Mercer Mayer books. Tonight he "read" the whole book "Froggy Plays Soccer". We've read it to him alot, so he basically has it memorized. But he does use the words on the page to queue him into what's next to say. He can also sound out words he doesn't know pretty well too. I read another book to him and would ask him to point to a word on the page. He'd use his finger to scan the lines and then find the word. We're very proud of him. He's learning fast.
Veggie Tales Live

Last Saturday a friend of Christopher's from school took him to see "Veggie Tales Live". He came home so excited, telling us all the things that happened. He really had a great time. He got home after 10pm. I think this is the latest he's been out for an event.
Great Snow

We had a wonderful snow storm, which is unusual for our area. It dumped about four inches and left plenty for making snowmen and throwing snowballs. Both Nicole and Christopher had a great time, as the pictures show. (to be added later) Here's a link to my favorite photo in the snow: Nicole and Christopher with snowman
