Character Profile: Misty
Misty has two different roles in the pokemon anime and GB game. In the game she is only a gym leader that you meet once and pass by, but in the anime she is one of the main characters.
She first meets Ash after pulling him and Pikachu out of a stream. Misty follows Ash through the first few episodes because of him wrecking her bike (See Ash's profile). After a few episodes ,though, she seems to forget all about the bike.
We later find out that she is the "fourth sensational sister" of the gym leaders at cerulean city. In that episode, Misty challenges Ash to a pokemon battle in her gym. The only reason Ash is able to best her pokemon is because of his Pikachu (electric pokemon literally deep fry water pokemon in every aspect of the game). Misty has an amazing affinity for water pokemon, as well as ability to fight with them.
Misty is undoubtedly the most odd character in the pokemon anime. She has very dynamic mood swings of all kinds, she fanatical about French things, she thinks jellyfish pokemon are cute (Ugh!!), and she argues with Ash about everything. She completely freeloads off Ash and Brock, taking thier food and money all the time. We also find, in the "Salon Roquet" episode, that she has absolutely no taste.
By the way, Misty is my favorite character! I just think she so...umm...well...something. I don't know, but there is something about her hyperactivity that amuses me.
