Facts of Karatsu
The city of Karatsu is situated on the northern part of the island Kyushu.
It is a rather small city and a popular vacation resort in the summer.
Karatsu is also widely known for the many ware kilns, and the
ceramics that are produced there. Near the city, along the beach
you will find the Rainbow Pine Grove. On a hill by the sea the Castle
looks down at the city. It is well worth it to walk the 235 steps up
on the hill to take a closer look at the castle-buildings and the
magnificent view of the city and the beach. You can also see the 284
meter high Mount Kagami, which is said to look the same from all directions.
When you are in Karatsu you must also visit the Karatsu Jinja and the
