Name: Tenchi Masaki Occupation: High School Student
Our hero. A very fortunate high school student with an awesome power.
Accidentally sets free the mischievous demon Ryoko. Object of interest
of the many girls in the show. Easy going guy who is constantly being
fought over by Ryoko and Ayeka. His mother died when he was a young boy and
is being raised by lecherous father and wise but mysterious grandfather.
Wielder of the Juraian power called Light Hawk Wings. |

Name: Ryoko Occupation: Galaxy-renowned Space Pirate
Renowned space pirate. Defeated by Juraian Crown Prince Yosho and imprisoned
for 700 years. Accidentally set free by Tenchi. Extremely
mischievous. Gifted with a great body and is not afraid to show it.
Constantly running after her love interest Tenchi and annoying Ayeka.
Draws power from mysterious jewels found on Tenchi's sword. Owner of
the space ship Ryo-Ohki. |

Name: Princess Ayeka Occupation: Crown Princess of Jurai
Beautiful princess of the planet Jurai. Gifted with good looks and
power. Become stranded on Earth after battling Ryoko. Falls in love with
Tenchi and is constantly fighting with Ryoko for his attention. Previously
betrothed to Crown Prince Yosho. Constantly restrains herself to "proper"
behavior though would probably just like to act just like Ryoko and jump
all over Tenchi. |

Name: Princess Sasami /
Tsunami Occupation: Princess of Jurai / Powerful Being
Cute little girl who is also the princess of Jurai. Becomes
stranded on Earth with sister Ayeka after Ayeka's big battle with Ryoko.
Actually the result of the merged persona of Sasami and Tsunami. Will
grow up to look like Tsunami which worries both Ayeka and Ryoko for she will
then become more beautiful than the other two. Sasami also becomes
the cook of the Masaki household and she does an excellent job. She is also
a constant companion of the ever so cute Ryo-Ohki. Hints at having an interest
for Tenchi. Tsunami is the other persona and has incredible powers. Has some
mysterious connection with Washu and the mysterious being called Lady
Tokemi. Never fully explained at the end of the OVAs. |

Name: Officer Mihoshi Occupation: Galaxy Police Officer
She is the best investigator in the Galaxy Police. Unfortunately, she also
has the worst performance record as she has the tendency to break things.
Also a little airheaded, I think she's the stereotype of an airheaded blonde.
Offers great comedy on the series. Although her ability as an
officer tend to rely more on luck than skill. Partnered to Kiyone who later
shows up on a special episode. Shows some interests towards Tenchi. |

Name: Grandpa / Crown Prince
Yosho Occupation: Caretaker of the Masaki Shrine / Warrior
Grandfather of Tenchi and caretaker of the Masaki shrine. Has quirky sense
of humor. Actually is Crown Prince Yosho and was once betrothed to Ayeka.
Great warrior who defeated and imprisoned Ryoko 700 years ago. Disguised
as an old man by his tree and is now training Tenchi to succeed him. |

Name: Washu or "Little Washu" Occupation: Greatest Scientist in the Universe
The greatest scientist in the Universe. Imprisoned by Kagato but was
unintentionally freed by our darling Mihoshi. Mother of Ryoko and creator
of Ryo-Ohki. Greatly interested with Tenchi's powers and wants him to be
her guinea pig. Great at creating and working with other dimensions. |

Name: Ryo-Ohki Occupation: Transforms into Ryoko's space ship
Cute cabbit, cross between cat and rabbit. Created by Washu and is Ryoko's
space ship. Constant companion of Sasami and hangs around Tenchi. Later became
able to take human shape. Loves carrots. |
