October 30 2000, What's new? Gosh...I mean, I haven't update my page in yonks! what is that is not new, I don't even know where to begin. Let's see, I got myself a cable connection from SCV, unlimited, speed up to 1.5 mbps (megabits per second) which roughly equals to 186 kbyte/sec (kilobyte per second). Oh baby! I don't think I can ever go back to using 56k modem again...been downloading like crazy ever since, bought a 15GB new seagate HD just to cope with the amount of downloading that I do, I managed to fill it up in just a bit over 3 week..that's scary. Now I'm constantly downloading and burning stuff into CDs.. Another big thing that has happened to me is that my PR (Permanent Residency) application to Australia has been approved!! Woohoooo!! I was soooo happy, and I was so eager to go back that I wish to leave for Australia a week after I got my PR. But my stupid landlady wants to be compensated because I break her contract. We already arrange for someone to replace us with higher rent to compensate but she still wants me to pay 8 months rent (Coz the contract is 12 months) before we can leave..*sigh* so I have no choice but to get stuck in Singapore until my house contract is finished....then...I'll be heading straight to Melbourne!! :)) can't wait.. Social life is improving very slowly, I try not to spend so much money coz I'll be needing it when I'm looking for a job in Melbourne. I'm thinking that I should probably be heading to Brisbane first since I have a place to put up temporarly..that probably be a wiser choice, I'll decide when the time is closer. Love life? don't even ask, it sux and there's even no prospect in the horizon..well, life goes on :) April 27 2000, Finally got the time to fully convert my old homepage to the new one. Looks rather plain and boring, most likely it's going to get changed again..once I got the insipiration and time (sounds familiar? :)) heheh) 4 October 1999, Finally get the time to do some updating on my webpage. I know, I know...a LOT of links are broken. I'll get them fixed. :) I'm working fulltime in Singapore right now for you who doesn't now. My job title is MIS Engineer/Programmer. Sounds complicated but actually I'm a just a computer guy. I do networking, a bit of firewall, administration on MS Exchange. I also create in-house softwares for the company and at the same time I do PC technical support..social life is getting better although I still miss Australia sooooo bad. Went to see an Australian movie with QUT Alumni in Singapore. Not a bad movie, miss the accent a lot though..reminds me of Australia so much. Love life still sux as ever, but hey I'm not complaining... :) |
