We write music at Clifford's home studio (see equipment list on the left) and mainly work with Raymond coming out with rhythm structures on his guitars or piano and Clifford humming away, writing lyrics as well. Sometimes we work with lyrics first, and write later. All English tracks are penned by Clifford while the Mandarin lyrics are mostly written by Johsen Johnson Ong of House Cat Music Publishing, our publishing boss.

And by the way, the listed studio on this page, GMR Studio happens to be the name of Cliffords Home Studio. (Friends of Clifford's, have you figured the abbreviations out yet? Ha ha ha).

We have been writing music since the mid 80s, with Clifford starting music composition in 1985 after being influenced by Duran Duran and Depeche Mode. And we listened to bands like Aha, Joy Division, New Order, The Cure and many other British bands. They will always have this cutting edge in their music that never fails to impress us.

We started writing music for Broadcast (jingles and stuff) for a while now, and have written music for MTV Asia's AIDS awareness spots, MTV Asia's promos, MTV Asia's CAN, ITV's Planet X programme, ITV's Extreme Asia Opening Song, National Kidney Foundation's Videos, and have scored music for a couple of indie films at home in Singapore.

Clifford is a full time sound designer, and has won a few industrial awards at Promax Asia for his involvement in the MTV Promo spots for 97/98/99. And at the Asian Television Awards 99, the MTV Asia programme which he is invovled in the mixing and Audio Post work, MTV Screen, beat the other competitors to win the coveted Best Light Entertainment Programme.

Raymond is a full time Sales Engineer with Music Plaza's Combo Shop, a music supply shop owned by Yamaha Japan. He is a digital equipment specialist in the company.

Raymond's passion is the synthesiser and piano, as well the guitars and bass.

Clifford programmes most of the tracks written by Pure Stain, and fronts the band as well.
