The rag tag group of heroes from Joe's Diner were now fighting a guerrilla war through out the streets. Packrat kicked open a door leading into a burning building where dozens of people attempting hide from the invasion had now become trapped. As Packrat led the way in, Sinestro appeared, using his ring to enclose a bubble of energy around the trapped pedestrians and carrying them out of the wreckage. Meanwhile, Gammablast, T-1000 and King Ggnictee continued to provide cover as one by one, Packrat and Sinestro began evacuating burning buildings that had now become death traps for the people who had taken to hiding inside of them. Meanwhile, Rimfiztrik in his EVA was under heavy fire. Having nearly exhausted his missile reserves on enemy ships, he was left with concealed mortars, which were only good for shooting at the platoons of alien infantry that were filling the street. The scene was utter chaos, so much so in fact that no one bothered to notice the way T-1000 began acting so strangely after a stray alien blast hit him in the head. Just as no one noticed that his neural net became confused, disorganized. His primary mission had been recalled. Terminate! Looking around, the T-1000 leapt forward, tackling King Ggnictee, who he now perceived to be a foe.

Superman was not feeling well. Sure everyone wakes up just feeling pretty bad, usually from a hangover. But in this case, it wasn't alcohol that he was recovering from, it was that alien blast that had hit him. Superman looked around to find himself secured tightly in a forcefield cell. The walls were literally solid force, unbreakable. As he tried to see if there was any way out of his cell, a voice came from behind.
"Quite an efficient design, don't you agree? I suppose it isn't all that imaginative, but then again, one can't complain with what works."
From out of the shadows, a tall, completely gray figure stepped out and into Superman's view. The Magus!
