Officer Hart and Young Justice sat huddled in the alley. No aliens had come along in half an hour. Long enough to get introductions rolling.
"So," Officer Hart said, "What are you kids doing out here risking your lives like this? Aren't there adult heroes who could do this?"
"There are, but they're also fighting the aliens," Impulse said. "We've got something else to do. Can we go now?"
"What would that be?" John responded. "Why is it so important you're risking your life for it?"
"Because we think it could end this," Jubilee answered. "It's some kind of magical thing that Link thinks could be exactly what we need."
"But what is it?"
"It's an Ocarina," Link said.
"What's that?" John asked.
"It's a musical instrument," Link answered. "This one happens to be magical. Since it affects time, we could hold off this invasion before it begins. It was stolen from me a week ago, but I know where it is."
"And you insist on finding it now?" John asked. "No matter how dangerous it is?"
"Look," Superboy said, "I don't know what answer you expect, but we're actually going to do something to help the situation here, so stay out of our way!"
While this was going on, Robin whispered to Marvel Girl "Why are there no aliens in this alley?"
"What do you mean?" Marvel Girl asked him.
"Well," Robin said, "since those we got rid of earlier, there have been no other aliens in this alley. Yet before, no matter where we were, every alien we took down was replaced by 20. Something's keeping them away."
"I'll see what I can find," Marvel Girl whispered, and she pulled out a laptop and began typing. "Whatever it is, it's coming from him."
Robin interrupted the discussion. "Officer Hart, do you have anything on you that's submitting a signal over the area?"
"Just a sensor sweep, nothing much," He responded. "Why do you ask?"
"Because I believee it's acting as an alien repellant for this area. If we could amplify that through the Khazan PA system, we could theoretically repel all of the aliens away from Khazan." Marvel Girl responded.
"Sorry," John said, "But this thing's got a limit. Too much and it begins eroding the fabric of reality. I'll go along with you to get this Ocarina, but then I've got work to do."
"And who says we want your help?" Superboy asked.
"Who says you get to turn me down?" John responded.
