Darkheart Forest - in the north of Karming. Perhaps 1,000 people live here at most; most are human woodcutters who live near the edges of this thick, gloomy wood. Few people venture into the dangerous, dense center of the forest, which is dominated by thorn trees, brambles and other stunted trees.
Guillemot Wood - in southern Sancerre. There were 2,500 wood gnomes and woodcutters here before the humanoid invasion. A large contingent of militia under Sallie d'Rallune escaped here, along with many other folk. This influx of people has put a great strain on the resources of this large wood.
Tittley Forest - in western Cassenddy. Parts of this forest are clean and open and well patrolled by the King's rangers and are home to 5,500 human woodcutters and rangers. The central regions are wild and cared for by druids and treants.
Wylkwood - in central Abbysinia. This mid-sized forest contains one community of 100 wood elves and twice as many humans. Only the stupid or daring venture into the central portions, which hold mysterious ruins dating back to the Dark Wars.
Vyllanor Forest - This immense forest covers hundreds of square miles of land from northern Karming to the Lenindral Valley and is bound by the Wolfsbaen and Crystal Myst Mountains. Almost 2,200 elves live within its confines, along with 9,300 humans (primarily in Three Rivers), and 6,700 halflings. This forest was entirely overrun by the Witchlord's armies during the Dark Wars, so there are large numbers of humanoid bands in the forest. These bands, coupled with the wild creatures that occasionally come down from the Wolfsbaen Mountains and Crystal Mysts make life in the Vyllanor Forest very difficult. The Vyllanor Forest covers the entire upper Rydel River basin and its various tributaries, the Eir and Braemar Rivers and Vernal Rush. It stretches from the Wolfsbaen Mountains along Cassenddy's border to the forbidding Crystal Mysts in the east. The forest is made up mostly of temperate and boreal woods and has very thick underbrush throughout. The northern cherry, which is prized in wealthy households around the Northlands, grows in large stands in the eastern and northern reaches of the forest.
Lesser Woodlands
Dyosome Forest - in western Ishbaar. Large swaths of this once-mighty forest have been burnt in the fighting in and around Tel Hadar.
Ghoere Wood - in north central Cassenddy. The forest consists of mostly pine and fir trees supporting at most 500 humans in the warmer months. It doesn't support much wildlife, especially in the winter.
Haelynwood - in southeastern Cassenddy. The forest stretches along the Starstream and to the north. Many humanoids infest the forest, although the King's wardens try to fight back.
Nabeull Forest - between Marblehead and Medinine. Both nations claim the forest, but the War of the Rangers (1107 Fd) gave effective control to Medinine and its rangers patrol all of the forest east of the Chancy River.
Whostwood - in northern Watersdowne. Much timber has been cut down by Uhlmanite men to construct warships.
Winterswood - on the Keighley River northeast of Shennendam. Many humanoids and giants here harass the road to Highpass.
