Who
am I?
So you're up to my
clever ruse and have skillfully figured out that Deadboy is not my real
name, right?
Boy, how could I ever get anything around
you? My real name is Robert Pay, and I live my life here in
Los Angeles, California. I'm a rabid
gamer, and dabble in everything from video games to computer
games. Of course, when I'm not playing
games you can find me biking around, hanging with my
friends, or building better web pages.
If there's supposed to be more to life than that, you can blame
all the crap they make you read in school
for influencing my thinking so much. So what if Thoreau
told me to "simplify, simplify, simplify"?
Beats me. Other than that, school takes up a huge chunk of
my time, so I really can't play as many
games as I would like to. Hey, no one's counting though.
Current
Projects
Ah, now we're getting
on to more interesting things! Not much occupies my time right now,
but I do have some stuff in the works.
For starters, the Crimson Gate (my game website) is constantly under
improvement, and that takes up a large chunk of my day. It might
also be a good idea to spruce up this page, but the spartan design has
already grown on me, so I dunno.
In my spare time, I also do some reading, and try to learn more about Java
and C++. A guy's work is never
done I suppose...
8/6/97 - Doom War Games 2 is finished! Skip down to the files section to get it now!
8/11/97 - Starting a week from now, I will
become an Internet solutions consultant for Triam computer services, a
mid-sized company here in Southern California. They offer lots of
stuff like hardware, spare parts, and drive repair. I was thrilled
to hear that they wanted me to join the company, and now have to come in
regularly to the shop so I can "learn the ropes". So far, I've talked
to my soon-to-be-boss Sean Grady (biz-guy and president of Triam), and
it looks like I'll be taking care of the company web server, designing
pages, online advertising, and pretty much whatever comes my way.
Even with all this new work though, I still intend to regularly update
and improve my homepages, so you won't have to worry about your favorite
site disappearing from the map :) If anything, expect some improvements
to come your way, since I'll have far more resources to draw from than
previously. While you're at it, go ahead and check out the company
web site at http://www.triamcom.com.
Until next time, stay sane (ha, you thought
I'd say safe, didn't you? :)

Still play Doom2?
My friend, Ian Miller and I have collaborated to finish a new deathmatch
only
level series, titled Doom War Games: Die
Harder! You can grab the full, finished version here.
It contains 6 original levels, with new
sounds and music. Very high quality deathmatching, no
crap whatsoever! Download it and
you won't be disappointed.
My
pages
I've
been designing web pages for quite a while now. In terms of official
pages finished and posted, only two
have been really done well; the Crimson Gate, and the Warzone. The
Crimson Gate is my baby right now,
but I ended up scrapping the Warzone. I didn't really have anywhere
else to go with that site, so I put
it in a dark corner somewhere on my hard drive. One of my friends
might take it off my hands and start
taking care of it themselves, but for now it is sitting dormant.
It's a lot of work doing these things,
not just to create them but to maintain them. I really have a lot
of fun making these pages, since it
gives me a chance to really show off my grammatical and artistic talents.
Sure, the concept does sound like a
conduit for arrogance and pride, but the real reason why I still work on
these pages is that it's fun.
I get a kick out of it when my friends and others stop by to check out
my work, and congratulate me on a job
well done. That alone is really reward for the work I put into this
thing, and it is also what keeps me
from exploding into one big mess when fixing the page gets too frustrating!
Also, if you read my "current projects" bit on top, my new job includes
taking care of Triam's
company
website. It's due for an overhaul soon, so check it out!
