10. LILO Configuration
The next page is the LILO configuration and boot choices. This page also
allows you to create a boot disk after the install is complete.
10.1 Create A Boot Disk
If you check this box it will prompt you to insert a blank floppy disk
after the installation is complete. I would recommend that you always create
a boot disk, so leave this checked.
10.2 Where to Put LILO
This allows you to choose where you put LILO. If you do not put LILO on
the master boot record, it is required to use a boot disk to start your
system. If you are dual booting with Windows 9x you could still put LILO
on the MBR and make LILO boot Windows for you, but you can't do this with
Windows NT or 2000.
10.3 Boot Choices
If you only have Linux on this system, there will only be one option, labeled
"linux." Otherwise, there should be and entry called "dos." You may want
to set this to the default image so Windows will boot unless Linux is chosen
specifically. This is usually the easiest way to dual boot a system.
