9. Formatting
The next screen that will appear after the partitioning is complete will
ask you which partitions you want to format. Formatting destroys all data
on that partition. There is also an option to check for bad blocks while
formatting.
9.1 What this Does
Unchecking a partition is useful if you already have data on the partition
an do not want to erase what is already there. I would recommend unchecking
the "Check for bad blocks while formatting:" option unless it is a brand
new drive. This is what makes formatting under Windows take so long, and
if the drive had be used before, any bad blocks on the drive should have
already been labeled as bad.
