A very diverse position within a small department that provides a wide variety of support in several disciplinary in media for the Executive Board of ING and it's staff departments. At first my task was to support the External Communications department in making presentations for the members of the Executive Board of ING. This ment that I had to make sure that the presentations contained the correct font types and colours according to the Brand Department Style guide and help out the writers with problems like making Graphical Charts. Furthermore the majority of tasks consisted of providing support and maintenance of both the ING intranet pages as well as the ING Internet Pages. Improving and optimising the navigation and designing new pages within the existing templates and space provided by the Lotus Notes and the Stellent Content Management systems.

Task: Internship

Qi-Ideas was the company where I fulfilled my second period of internship for the duration of five months. I've done a lot of Desk Top Publishing work there, like designing cd case covers and other adverts and posters ment for company presentations. A second task I had to perform there was designing under-construction pages for the websites of the Vrumona company (Heineken, Xi, Pisang Ambon, Bols etc). For these brands I also did some website maintenance and designing pages for short term marketing actions. I also worked a lot with Asset-lists, this ment that you have to prepare huge lists of buttons, graphical animations and images for the internet. This was mostly done for the MSD company from Belgium. They wanted their website translated in French and English so every button and image containing text had to be translated.
In my spare time I educated myself further in programs like Dreamweaver, Flash and Photoshop, but I also learned new programs like Fireworks, PowerPoint and Adobe Illustrator.


Tarchon BV, Alkmaar.

Task: Web designer

I worked for over two months within this company. In the end I had to leave cause they needed someone for fulltime and I had to go back to school again and I could only work for two days a week.
Tarchon was an IT company that was all about inventing semantic databases and search-engines. I was the only (creative) web designer there amongst a lot of technical specialists. It was my task to design and build them a corporate site. The company was just founded a few weeks before I had arrived. The site had to be strict and simple. Its main strength should be speed. For them being technical specialists they were not interested in graphical splendour but speed. Therefore this company was very good for developing my knowledge in HTML and cleaning up unnecessary scripts.

ING House Tour (A site developed to meet the demand for guided tours through ING House. Because this is prohibited it was necessary to create an alternative that floor managers could use in case they had to decline another apply for a tour. At first I made a flash file (You can take a look at this movie by clicking here ), but Later on we made a complete website to be able to give more extended information.
