- The
very first thing that I recommend a new character should do is go to a
provisioner and buy at least two bags. Put all of your important stuff
(gold!) in a bag and put that bag in the other bag. A thief will have a
higher chance of being caught if he has to snoop into several things.
- Speaking
of thieves, do not let anyone stand next to you.
- If you
are killed while in a town or if someone tries to steal from you while
you are in a town, type "! Guards", without the quotes and with
the space between the exclamation point and guards.
- I think
the only NPCs who will buy hides or furs are tanners,fur traders and cobblers.
If you use a sewing kit on a pile of hides and the most you can make is
sandals, a cobbler will buy those from you. Actually you should be able
to make a leather gorget with 4 hides, a blacksmith or armourer might give
you around 30 gold for that.
- If you
are worried about pkers, consider getting fellow SOK member(s) to go out
adventuring with you. Or you can hire a NPC to go out with you (some will
work for 10 gold a day (use the keyword hire)).
