Setup Your Max:
When you start up Max you should have something like this.
You want to start out by maximise your Perspective view.
I always work in Perspective View over User View. You can see the shape of your model as it would be in real life WITH PERSPECTIVE. Also I’m used to drawing with perspective and I have a problem working in User View, I find myself building perspective in to my model which as you can imagine can look very wired when I rotate the view. I very highly recommended you work in Perspective View.
You should now have this.
We may as well get the modifier list out of the way as well. I try to keep this list as small as possible; any modifiers that I had in there and hadn’t used for some time have been removed. So this is the entire modifier list you will need for this tutorial and for Mid-Poly modelling.
This setup will do for a start. There maybe a few more things that have to be change but we will do them when if we get to them.
Time to start modeling.
