Sub-Catagories: All the boxes above also have a secondary catagory, more of a description than a catagory. This more or less give a description as to the appearance of the box's state.
Here is a list of sub-catagories: Plain, Simple, Engraved, Sturdy, Iron-bound, Scratched, Dented, Battered, Badly Damaged, Weathered, Acid-pitted, Corroded, Rotting and Enruned.
Of all these, Enruned is the one of most note. Enruned prevents the use of magic on the box. Meaning you can't Magicly disarm or unlock the box, nor can you use "Call Lightning" to blast it open. Also I have noticed that these boxes are more likely to send to"cloud bolt" right back at the caster or to someone in the imediate room. And let me tell you, it hurts... ALOT. The bolts tend to give you a severe wound and blow out your nerves compleately, and most often kill you out .right. So be careful and use cuation.
These are the basic Materials all boxes are made of. But of course , finding the boxes is the easy part.
Once found you have to open them. Yep, can't just walk up , grab a box and open it for instant wealth.
The gods deemed it Nessasary to work for your silvers. So there are three types of boxes to be opened.
1. Trapped and Locked - These have some kind of trap attacked to the box and or lock, and need to be
disarmed before the lock can be attempted. Not all traps go off if you pick the lock first, but it's a good rule
of thumb to disarm the trap first. Never know when you will fumble a picking attempt and poof your dead.
2. Untrapped and Locked - These types have no traps , just a lock. But sometimes that is more than enough.
Skilled pickers can maneuver their lockpicks with enough skill to remove the lock and let ya get to the loot
within.
3. Untrapped and Lockless - Lockless, these types take a special talent to remove the locking mechanism.
This can be done one in two ways. First by a waggler with the Unlock spell, and Second by a warrior with
enough ranks in the guild skill of "Bashing". These boxes almost always do not have a trap on em, least that I
have seen.
Traps Unveiled
Okay, ya probaly asking yourself now. Traps? What kind of traps? What do they look like? How do I remove them? Can I die from them? To answer all this I will show you, step by step.
First you need to hold the box in your hands. The "box" in one hand, the other hand empty so you can work.
Second, You Disarm my <box type> to check the box for traps. Example: Disarm my Coffer
You will get this if you are checking for traps:
Not Disarmed:You are not able to disarm the trap but you get a sense that you could have had it with a little more luck.
You still have a good enough picture of the trap in your mind, that you could try to disarm it.
Roundtime: 20-45 sec.
The Following are the traps that can be found, and a description of what they are and what the disarm looks like.
Fire Vial Trap
Trap Found on Disarm: Looking closely into the keyhole of the lock, you spy a small vial of fire-red liquid and a tiny hammer device which seems poised to shatter it if the lock is tampered with.
Disarmed: You manage to bend the weak metal of the hammer out of striking range of the vial.
Poison Needle Trap
Trap Found on Disarm: Hmmm, you can see what appears to be a tiny hole next to the lock plate which doesn't seem to belong there. Looking closer you see a gleaming sliver of metal recessed in the hole.
Disarmed: You manage to block the tiny hole next to the lock plate.
Jaw Trap
Trap Found on Disarm:

Dark Crystal Trap
Trap Found on Disarm: Looking closely into the keyhole of the lock you spy a small, dark crystal which seems imbedded in the locking mechanism. It looks as if opening the lock without the exact key could shatter it.
Disarmed: With a little ingenuity you manage to grind down parts of the lock mechanism so it won't come in contact with the crystal when you try to open it.
Tumbler Trap
Trap Found on Disarm: Peering closely into the lock, you spy a tiny vial placed just past the tumblers of the lock mechanism. It would appear that any tampering with the lock mechanism would cause the tumblers to crush the vial and release whatever substance is inside.
Disarmed: You carefully push a small ball of cotton into the lock mechanism, surrounding and protecting the small vial from anything that may shatter it.
Spring Trap
After carefully examining the lock, you move on to the hinges of the coffer. Just as you were to pass the coffer off as safe, you notice what appears to be the ends of springs incorporated with the hinges. Seems rather odd to have a coffer designed to spring open when it is unlocked.
Disarmed: With a little force applied to the springs, you manage to pop them inside the coffer.
Scarab Trap #1 (Disease type)
Trap Found on Disarm: Peering closely into the lock, you spy a miniature sky blue glaes scarab wedged into the lock mechanism. The scarab's surface is etched with tiny runes that seem to writhe as the light strikes them.
Scarab removed from the box:
Manual Disarm:
Magic Disarm #1: Minor Spirit Spell - Undisease (113)

What is in the box now that I have it open you might ask? Well to answer that, will take a few sections. But to
answer simply, "Loot" in the form of Silver coins, Gems, Wands, and other types of arcane devices, as well as
the now common "Treasure item" and the occasional uncommon "box found unique item".
Gems
Gems come in a huge variety of shapes sizes and colors, and some are unique to the geographical areas your in.
The types are just to numerous to list here. Here is a gem guide of the most common kinds listed else
where, compliments of my Grandson "Silentwolf" and myself.
