Course 2: Whomp's Fortress

(Requirement: 1 Star)

Star 1: Chip off of Whomp's Block
From where you enter the course, jump onto the lower ledge,
and then to the one above it. Go up the ramp (not into the water).
To kill a Pirhana Plant, walk slowly towards it and punch.
When you get to the rotating plaform, get on, and quickly & carefully
go to the middle of the platform. When it turns around, get off.
To kill the Mini-Whomps, run under them, turn around,
and butt stomp them for 5 yellow coins. Go up the elevator.
After yelling at you, the Whomp King will try to flatten you.
Beat him the same way you did the little ones. After stomping him
3 times, he will give you the star.

Star 2: To the Top of the Fortress
(Requirement: Star 1)
Follow the instructions given in Star 1 to get to the top of the
elevator. Once you get there, you will notice that something has changed.
There is now a tower on top of the fortress. Climb from platform
to platform (watch out for the moving ones), until you get to the
top. Don't try to kill Bullet Bill, or he will kill you. Behind
the very top of the tower is the star.

Star 3: Mario Blasts to the Sky
(Requirements: Stars 1 & 2)
This time, when jumping onto the first ledge, go into the water.
Wade across the water to the other side. Talk to the Bob-omb Buddy
and he will open up the cannon for you. Jump in, and aim for
the middle of thr big pole. If you miss, you will have to start
over. If you get onto one of the platforms, get to the bottom
one, and collect the Star!

Star 4: Red Coins on the Floating Isle
(Recommended: Stars 1 & 2)
Red Coin 1: On top of the rocks that push out of the wall on the 1st ledge.
Red Coin 2: On top of the 2nd blue Thwomp (yes, you can stand on them).
Red Coins 3 & 4: On the upper ledge, near the Pirhana Plants.
Red Coins 5 & 6: Go across the rotating platform, but stay on. Let the platform take you around again so you get the 5th coin. Jump off the platform and get the 6th Red Coin underneath it on the slope.
Red Coins 7 & 8 (Method 1): Head up to the top of the fortress, below the tower. Punch, kick and otherwise beat up the big vertical plank of wood until it collapses. Walk across the plank to the series of floating isles and collect the last two coins.
Red Coins 7 & 8 (Method 2): Head back to the beginning of the course and climb the tree until an owl flies out. After he yells at you for waking him up, he will offer you a ride on his feet. Grab onto him by pressing and holding the A button. Steer him towards the floating isles with the Control Stick. Let go of the A button when you are above them, and collect the last 2 coins.
Star: In the meadow in the beginning of the course.

Star 5: Fall onto the Caged Island
(Requirements: Stars 1 & 2)
Wake up the owl (see Star 4, RC's 7 & 8, Method 2). Steer him
towards the Island with the cage around it and the Star in its
center. Fall down and you will probably land directly on the star.

Star 6: Blast away the Wall
(Requirements: Stars 1 & 2)
Jump into the cannon and aim above the wall on the right.
When you hit the wall it should shatter and reveal the star.
Go up and get it!

Star 7: Just Look Around for 100 Coins
 There are many, many coins scattered all over this course.
Pirhana Plants give a Blue Coin each, and there is a treasure
trove of Blue coins down the ramp from the cannon. As usual
the star appears above your head.
